Good pizza; on par if not slightly better than Turoni’s. I was intrigued due to the “Live Jazz” mural on the side of the building, but apparently that’s a misnomer as they weren’t playing any jazz music and the live performances are from a bygone era; they did have a nice playlist though! At any rate, the vibe was interesting…Turoni’s is definitely more warm and charming…Turoni’s is more like a restaurant that has a bar and Deerhead is more like a bar that has a restaurant, if that makes sense. Apparently Deerhead used to be quite the place, with an expansive menu as well as live performances multiple days throughout the week.

Ate lunch on a Friday. Server was really good and kept our drinks full. I had the Greek salad that was fantastic as always. I also had the pork soulvakia. The flavor was great but the meat was a little dry and tough. The chicken version is better to me. I still recommend this place!!

Met a friend for lunch today here. He was a regular and highly recommended this place. I was not disappointed. The staff was super and the food was good. I tried the house stromboli with some fries. It was good. The fries were standard issue. I would be supportive of a spicier version too. They have a double thin crust pizza on the menu which I will be trying soon. Prices were reasonable, especially for the portions. No complaints I look forward to a return soon. Apparently there is live music there on occasion as well so I will provide an update when I can.

Heard of for many years yet never tried. Finally decided to try them out. We got the double decker meat pizza. Lots of toppings. It was very good and very filling. I believe we had Annie for waitress she was fantastic. I will come back and try again. Hope the next time is as good as this visit was.

Ordered a grilled tenderloin sandwich, and it was very good. Our waitress was attentive and very pleasant. The biggest turn off was the other waitress. She was disruptive and unhelpful. I even witnessed her walk away from one of her tables and not offer promptly to a spilled drink. She rolled her eyes and then went to take another tables order before getting a roll of paper towels. It was neat to look at and read some of the decor.

I won’t bother going again. I went to the bar side because I was meeting someone for a drink, I was not sure we would stay for dinner. When I ordered my beer and told the bartender I didn’t need a tab, he seemed disappointed. Once my friend arrived it took the bartender a while to get his order and when they didn’t have Pepsi, my friend just ordered water. The bartender was obviously upset. We stayed quite a while and decided to get a meal. When I told the bartender we would have separate checks and I just got a sandwich he gave us more attitude. It was early, not at the top meal time, we were not taking up the last table. We were treated rude by the bartender all evening. I’ll go somewhere else in the future.

My husband picked up a double decker pizza! I had no idea they had them! I was barely able to get through a whole piece! It’s stuffed with toppings! I would highly recommend to get some pizza sauce on the side. He got us parmesan and feta. It was amazing! This is a locally owned treasure! I have lived in Evansville my whole life and have had a few things on their menu. Everything I have tried is delicious! I highly recommend it.
