I confess, I don’t go here for Barbeque (I’ve never even tried it), but their Chicken Salad sandwich on grilled Texas toast is awesome!! Topped with lettuce and slices of tomatoes that always taste fresh! Then I top it off with a piece of the homemade peanut butter cake! Love! I highly recommend that you check it out! Reasonably priced.

Ok so I wasn’t really happy with my order. I ordered the sliced brisket plate only to find out after we already ordered that they only had chopped so not what I really wanted but that’s ok so I told them no BBQ sauce on it but on the side and got no sauce at all. The reasoning for me trying to get the sauce on the side was because I got the chopped and my fiance got the sliced before and they put way to much sauce so i complain and get none. I’m assuming the reason they didn’t have the sliced and did have the chopped was because that was the bottom of the barrel on brisket because it was barely any meat and had a lot of burned and grissel looking stuff in it. Food was good. Had a take out order for a group. Everyone’s dinner was complete and presentation was nice. Food was very good. BBQ was tender and lean, beans were flavorful, buns were fresh. Service was old school polite and sweet. First time I’ve been in this area in years. Glad I remembered it.

I have been coming to Deermans BBQ ever since I was a little girl. My family and I used to love to eat here after church on Sunday’s. Ever since they moved to their current location the food has not been the same. I’m extremely disappointed with my experience today! I went through the drive thru a little after 11:00 a.m. ( I ordered the Special which is hamburger steak w/gravy and onions with two sides and bread). Whoever was taking orders was struggling with taking my order. I had to repeat myself repeatedly and once I pulled to the window…I yet again had to repeat my order! I asked for a slice of the cocola cake the lady didn’t have a clue what I was talking about! Yet it’s on the freaking menu! It’s really important for the staff to know about the food selection/menu. This lady obviously needs better training. I asked for tobacco sauce never received any with my order. My food was room temperature/ cold (not even warm) it definitely did not taste like it was freshly made!! My sweet tea was very watery! I literally spent $18 on a very poorly made meal.

The smoked dark quarters were the best I’ve had! The greens and cornbread were superb! If we’re ever near Birmingham again, we’re eating here! The manager was super nice and the food came to us just moments after we sat down. We left full!

This place is a literal gem. I wanted the special of the day but they were out pretty early so I got the hamburger steak, taters and gravy, Okra and cornbread. I have no complaints. The food was hot and fresh. The lemon pie they have is the bomb. Overall I totally recommend if you want food that taste homemade.

The chicken & beef brisket were so dry it was difficult to swallow. Expensive meal I couldn’t eat. The best thing there was my waitress. My neighbors were at another table & the husband wound up with food poisoning. No recommendations from me for this restaurant.
