Love, love, love Del Taco!! So many more options and so much better quality than Taco Bell! (FYI I’m not a TB hater; I actually really like Taco Bell). They even offer decent fish tacos as a consistent menu item. Occasionally throughout the year they will also offer delicious crispy shrimp tacos and burritos that are pretty damn good. I usually order the classic grilled chicken burrito, grilled chicken tacos (or chicken tacos del carbon, which are also amazing but you can’t ever seem to get enough of them), and sometimes a bean burrito with green sauce or a tostada (maybe both depending on my hunger level).

The Del Taco did live up to its recognition as the best fast food taco. Crispy taco shell, fresh tomatoes, fresh shredded cheese, crispy lettuce, and ground beef that is not oily. The epic burritos and tortas can not go wrong with ingredients just like every menu item made to order. Cheese shredded, tomatoes diced, lettuce shredded, chicken, beef and steak grilled, fries fried to golden crisp, fresh salsa and fresh avocado sliced and turned into guacamole all done in the restaurant’s kitchen. That is how fresh Del Taco can make their food made to order. No heat lamps therefore food is made once you place an order. That is truly hot and fresh.

When circumstances dictate I go “fast food” Del Taco in Santa Maria is the only one I go to. I’ll usually get 2 of their “Guacked up” Chicken Del Carbon tacos along with a medium iced tea. Always very satisfied. Once in a blue moon I will order one of their mini Strawberry shakes as portion control is everything. The employees and managers are all very pleasant. I definitely recommend Del Taco especially if time is tight. They also have, in my opinion, the absolute best value menu in the industry.
