I’ve been here 3 times and I have enjoyed every menu item that I have tried. The only concession that I have is the size, they seem to only have a couple of sides. I wish there were more choices. There’s still a few more things I want to try there so I’ll continue to go. They have a small grocery store inside and I love the cookies that they sell there. They are so tasty. If you haven’t gone there you should go and try it for yourself.

We were traveling through and purposely looking for a local establishment for a quick lunch. The moment we stepped in it was clear we were unwelcome. The gentleman working greeted us with irritation saying “seat yourselves, I’m not a maitre d'” then repeatedly scoffed at us as we tried to move towards a table, clearly not fast enough for him. We felt very uncomfortable and did not bother staying to see if it could get worse.

Tucked away one block north (308 feet) of historic #Route66 in downtown Waynesville. Ursula’s Schnitzelhaus does not receive the recognition it deserves. Authentic German food served up by a genuine family with a quirkiness that will endear them as characters on the Mother Road. This family has been feeding Waynesville for over 30 years. Their schnitzel sandwich was exactly what I was expecting and hoping for. I happily took the to-go imported Original Oktoberfest beer advice and was not disappointed. Wow, what a treasure find! We enjoyed the traditional German sausages and goulash. Another table nearby was very pleased with the schnitzel. Cozy atmosphere, family owned and staffed. So pleasant!!
