Food had great portions, great price, great taste. Just a little bit of a long wait, and they share the kitchen with like 5 other takeout restaurants so it can get crowded and busy. Other than that though, loved it!

I visited over the summer and had an okay experience. The staff was extremely nice, it was almost like stopping by a family member’s house to get a plate lol. My fried chicken was some of the best chicken, the Mac and cheese…needs improvement, but the sweet tea gave me life! I always have high hopes of tasting good green beans and am often disappointed. Not this time, they were perfect! My friend had the smothered chop and rice, she loved it! They had a menu that they took from table to table which initially took me by surprise but it wasn’t really an issue for me. I’ll be back soon.

Great food but the service is terrible! The wait staff needs training as well. I ate there with my family and they forgot to bring my dad’s food and they ran out of mac and cheese!! But they acted like it wasn’t a big deal. Also they got my son’s order wrong too. I am not sure where the food is cooked either because you can’t smell any food in the restaurant. Another thing, I don’t like the idea of paying there at the door blocking the entrance before sitting down. Maybe they should just stick to catering because the food is pretty good.

Ok soul food with limited menu options. Country style steak with gravy & potatoes was good. The canned corn was not so good, unless you like canned corn. Mac – n-cheese was decent. Cornbread was hard & dry & did not taste homemade. Might try them one more time.

This is the best example of both homestyle cooking and great customer service. It is the BEST fried chicken in the triad. No one else is close to this. Everyone there is respectful as well as concerned you have the best meal possible. They asked how we liked it, and my response was, “If you never see me back in here, it’s only because I’m dead.” I will be back, multiple times.

Meat was undercooked. And the portions are relatively small compared to price. The setup just looks not quite together yet. And if you want a refill of soda to go they practically charge you the price of another drink a dollar. I can assure you a Styrofoam cup does not cost a dollar. Macaroni and cheese is good but I expected a layer of baked cheese to be on top of it.

Limited Menu (about 6 platter type meals) written on a dry erase board that was moved around to each table. Orders came out within 5 minutes of ordering, but No smell of food in the restaurant; so dont know where the foods cooked. Chicken was overcooked. Everything was “sweet” from the drinks to the food. One persons meal in our party was completely forgotten. Staff didnt even realize, although many trips were made to the table to bring things. We had to tell them. We assumed meal was still cooking. A meal was eventually brought out in pieces (sides, meat, bread), but still not what was ordered. Bread items brought to our table in a “gloved hand”, not on a plate. Visiting from out if town. Came here based on stars. Bad choice.

Late getting drink orders. Food took to long to come out. The Yams tasted like the ones that comes in a can that was doctored on (didn’t help). The Mac and Cheese tasted like dish detergent. The Cornbread was completely dry and tasteless. The only thing I could stomach to finish was the Fried Chicken.
