I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and they had a location on mill plain road. I wish it was still there but I come to get Desert Moon all of the time. My favorite comfort food and the staff is so friendly every time I come to the mall.

Food here is great, customer service is great. All of the bad reviews don’t seem true, especially because I’ve eaten there with my family many times. I found the staff extremely friendly, and hard workers. I’ll always choose this place over others when I go back to the mall.

These unfavorable reviews seem like they’re steeped in comparison to Chipotle, which is doing Desert Moon a great disservice, although frankly, I would say that Desert Moon is superior as far as the food itself is concerned, if we’re doing this comparison game. The employees at this location (from what I’ve seen, the only remaining location – quite a shame) are efficient and quite friendly so long as you aren’t treating them as if they’re below you, as I’ve seen people do while in line behind them. You can’t fail with the menu here- everything is great. I prefer the vegetarian options, although when I have dabbled with their more carnivorous selections, I still never found myself to be disappointed. I am a staunch advocate for the consumption of Desert Moon and if you’ve ever believed the sort of negative hype that mall-goers have attributed to DM, I hope I’ve given you reason to reconsider.

The only reason Desert Moon doesn’t get 5 stars is the salsa isn’t spicy enough. I always get the pork tacos and a side of guacamole. It’s hard to find a good taco in CT but this one is pretty good.
