Cobb salad very fresh, fried green beans & cauliflower delight. Birria tacos a tad dry

Four of us went in after a round of golf. Place was clean, service was great, and their Philly sandwich was awesome. 12 inch hogie roll and I would guess close to a pound of meat, onions, and peppers. Veggies were not cooked to death. Just enough to be soft and flavorful. I opted to upgrade to onion rings which were also very good in my opinion. Crisp and just a little greasy!

We were in the neighborhood and Desert Penguin has become my go-to when I’m in East County. I’ve never been disappointed and each time I visit I try something new.

The food is excellent in taste and appearance. The atmosphere is perfect for a family gathering, friendly girls night out, guys chatting and the Bar is huge.

Very few customers were there, so I don’t know how the table could have still been dirty. Food was bland. Coleslaw tasted sour. However, the manager present, was very welcoming and pleasant to talk to.

Great fun environment, friendly staff, excellent food and skilled bartenders. Usually fun events like live music, comedy, karaoke, UFC fights… Great selection of original drinks too!!

When this restaurant first opened a few years back, the food and staff were excellent. Unfortunately, both have gone downhill very quickly. We decided to give it another try last night with my sister and her husband who were visiting from out-of-town. We were very disappointed and embarrassed because this restaurant should be one of the best places to dine in Wellton besides Geronimo’s- which never disappoints. When we first arrived we were shown to our table by the manager/owner? He then sat at the bar and watched TV the whole time we were there; only one young waitress to service the entire dining room! Kudos to her because she did the best she could without any help from management. We had to wait 30 minutes for appetizers that looked like reheated overcooked leftovers so dinky they got lost on the platter. The ranch dipping sauce was liquid, not creamy. We then had to wait another 30 minutes for our entrees. The BLT sandwiches were on cold soggy half-toasted white bread with no mayo. We ordered salads instead of fries, but we got fries. The fish of the fish and chips were shaped in rolls, fried dark brown and fell apart when picked up with a fork. To top it off, we were given someone else’s tab! I only gave this one star because well, the fries were pretty good!

Pretty good place overall. Cute theme with a 6′ tall penguin in the corner. LOL . We only had drinks and appetizers. My true rating is 3.5. Would be a solid 4 stars if they could get rid of those FLIES!! Saw a Live band “The Teccas” while here. Great music !
