Great Mexican restaurant that has been here for decades because they are doing it right! The chips are homemade (still warm when we got them) and every dish we ordered was fresh and full of flavor. The staff were also so friendly with our dogs, bringing out a bowl of water for them right away and saying hi to them the whole time we were there. The patio is large and fully covered so it is a great shady spot to come with the pups in the summer heat. Great beer selection too! Highly recommend.

This place is fire! They had an army on the porch seating area help us make sure tables were set and and even not wobbling which on the patio area most places don’t care at all. Food is amazing. Literally so good and service was amazing! Go eat here this place was priced great and accommodated our group of 12 so well. I’ll be back for sure

Absolutely everything was fabulous about our dinner. Service was prompt and timed perfectly. Homemade chips, guac, salsa,… everything. I had the Richard burrito and wife had the chile relleno. Both were totally delicious with excellent complexity in every bite. Margaritas were spot on with the large served in 16 oz glasses. I don’t normally do reviews but this dinner deserved one.

Some of the worst “Mexican” food I’ve ever tasted. We went there because it had a 4 star rating on yelp and a 4.3 rating on google. I had a tostada salad and added chicken breast which was supposed to be charbroiled. Instead it was shredded tasteless chicken. My grandson had a mani mahi wet burrito. He said the fish was dry and that Taco Bell (which he hates) is better.

We had lunch at Despo’s yesterday 7/20/23. I had the shredded chicken enchiladas and my husband had the tortilla soup. We also ordered chips, salsa and guacamole. My first comment was “This chicken with salsa verde is really good! The chicken is tender and the flavor is wonderful.” I tasted the tortilla soup which was also very good, as was the salsa and guacamole. We eat at Mexican restaurants wherever we travel and at home and we feel the food at Despo’s is at the top. We went back again today because we enjoyed the food, service and staff there so much. I had the chicken enchiladas again and my husband had the Chili Verde. Again we had excellent food and service. If we lived near Ketchum we would be regulars every week. We also liked the outdoor and indoor seating. It was very comfortable and relaxing and the owner and servers were so welcoming and friendly. I can highly recommend Despo’s with no qualms. Thank you Amy, Allen, Tucker, and Manuel! Keep up the good work.

The place is clean. The staff are friendly. The appearance is wonderful. The food, is lacking. I LOVE Mexican restaurants. So I have been to MANY. This particular place, their food is sweet. The rice is chewy, the beans are bland, and the burrito is SMALL for a 13.99 plate. Everything LOOKS wonderful so that is a plus. .P.S. lettuce does not belong inside a hot burrito. The inside is mushy.

We had dinner at Despo’s for the first time on August 8th: quesadilla and chile relleno were great and we had an excellent local beer. We had the chance to speak with Amy, the owner, who is terrific. We visit Ketchum annually and will surely eat at Despo’s again next year.

Awesome Mexican food, best in Idaho for sure ! Authentic, good portions and friendly staff. Great overall experience. Just a small selection of drinks! Service was quick, try their variety of salsas based on spice level, definitely some good stuff.
