This place is great. It looks super intimidating from the outside but the people in here are amazing. The staff is great and the atmosphere is great too. The food is pretty good here and they have a decent menu. Stop by and have a chat with some of the people. They are truly awesome here.

I didn’t have the food as I had another place to be. I do intend to go back for steak night. The service was great. I was greeted as soon as I went in and felt very comfortable. The section in the back had plenty of tables although outside this time of year I was all for sitting inside at the bar.

Cathy the bartender and all the patrons were so damn friendly to the 3 of us when we stopped by on the way to Canon City. We stopped again on the way back and this time Cathy had made biscuits and gravy that were SO GOOD. Thanks y’all, we be back!

To be clear, DoA is not a bad place to go to. I have never felt uncomfortable there, but I wouldn’t specifically think of it as a place I would take a date to. I have to give it lower marks than other bars simply because I would have to say that it is geared toward a more fringe crowd in the area. I’m not trying to say that anyone there or who goes there are not fine upstanding citizens. It’s just not a fancy place, and if you’re not comfortable in a crowd of people who are absolutely happy not being considered as “normal” in society, you might want to find a different spot. In fact, I doubt that anyone there would mind the lower rating to keep you dirty normies from coming in, but they’ll damn sure take your money if you want to wet your whistle.
