I wanted to like this place. I swear I did. But it’s a no for me dog. No pun intended. I ordered the Italian hot dog because I was craving a good jersey dog, but I was sadly disappointed. The bread is good but too big to eat any of the ingredients all at once. Almost $9 for a triangle sandwich was OD and it was really flavorless. I think the thing that bothered me the most was the older man who worked in the back with both hands on all the hotdogs; no gloves. I wouldn’t try again and I wouldn’t recommend, however I do encourage you to try it for yourself and form your own opinion.

So I ordered 3 pizzas and a sandwich: 1 pizza with extra cheese & chicken..1 plain pizza & 1 pizza with Pepperonis & a turkey/Swiss sandwich. I sent my son to pick up the order, however when he came back home with the order….1 pizza came with….. NO…. pepperoni’s! My husband called to complain and they completely blamed it on Door Dash. They said the website is run by DoorDash. I thought DoorDash was a delivery service. I sent my son to pick up the order…. No delivery!… Seriously???!! No….The order was correctly placed online and they messed it up… NOT Door Dash. Door Dash is not the one cooking the food! They took no accountability for getting the order wrong and blamed it on a delivery service that we didn’t even use. It’s ok…. Though! One and done…..I will never do business with them again! As you can see on the receipt and pictures…I paid for a pepperoni pizza and didn’t get it and they didn’t even care to correct it! So that was enough for me!

I asked for a order of potatoes with a chopped up (in pieces) hot dog on top with extra cheese mind you I said mozzarella but since 4 guys made this I guess the order came out like this ? and this what I get smh didn’t even budge to eat actually took my hunger away . waste of money smh never again Even if I did ask for yellow cheese just look.>> the last pic is what I basically asked for lol

I was raised up in Newark, and now I live in Michigan, and when I go on vacation to New Jersey, I have to stop in and have one of their delicious pizzas and the delicious hotdog with the potatoes my wife is a huge fan of their pizza. She is a Michigan native and one place we have to go when we go to New Jersey is this place. The pizza is a hidden gem here.

Came back to the old neighborhood just to indulge in a decadent delicious double hot dog!!! It’s worth tolerating the somewhat seedy neighborhood, double-parked cars and idiotic “drivers” with their booming blaring music. What won’t you do for this culinary experience??? We weren’t disappointed! You gotta have a double at least once in your life… this was my first in more than ten years! Loved it!!!!

One of the iconic food establishments in Newark. Do not let the looks of the place fool you. Some of the best pizza and hot dogs I’ve ever had. The pizza def has those NYC roots with its thin dough and chewy crust. The sausage slice is so good! Real sausage slices not that crumbed stuff. Oh and the hot dogs. You’ve never had a hot dog like the D’s. Taters, onions and peppers, and whatever condiments u want. Worth every penny. Don’t forget to tip the nice staff.
