We had lunch in the Lounge on a stormy Friday afternoon in early June. We loved the experience. We were a little confused about where to park and needing to pay a grounds fee as posted. We asked and were told that eating at the restaurant does not require the fee. Our server, Jean, was absolutely amazing. Service was prompt, fun, and dignified. The view from our table was stunning. I can only imagine what it would look like with fall colors. I had the Weiner Schnitzel. It was delicious. So many flavors to experience. We had had the Bratwurst, which had a mild flavor, not spicy. The beer was good, a crispy pilsner flavor. The hamburger was also selected, however it was a bit dry. Overall we really enjoyed the experience. The historical aspect was fascinating.

We wanted to check out the resort and grabbed some snackies and adult beverages at the Lounge. The views are breathtaking, food was scrumptious, and Jean ( our lovely bartender) was absolutely amazing!

Amazing food! We love alpine cuisine and this did not disappoint. Get the apple strudel, so save room!

I was between 2 and 3 stars but then I remembered how expensive some menu items were.

We made a reservation with a note that it was a special occasion. One would think they would hold a table for a reservation made a month in advance that you would get a table with a view, not the situation. The service was ok. I ordered a tea never once did our waitress ask if I wanted an other or sugar honey , milk…. The food was very tasty. To be honest the maple chicken was an extremely small portion for the money. The rainbow trout with couscous was amazing and the Caesar salad was delicious but the chickpeas not edible unless you want to loose a tooth. The bread tasted old and was hard. To be honest many other great places to eat in the area especially that the menu was very limited.

Beautiful setting & character (decorated Christmas trees throughout the lodge all with unique themes), attentive servers, quiet dining area, festive pianist, and good food! The beef tartar very tasty, duck confit good, and the venison was FANTASTIC!! Thank you very much!

My wife, 2 friends and I ate here. Very cozy, calm, and tranquil environment. Food was excellent. Our waitress was fantastic. Will come back.

I had the prime rib which was decent. The cheese plate was very good. What puts it over the top was the service and ambiance. I did prefer the food at the beer hall down the street but it is much more casual so the dining room is more appropriate for a fancy dinner.

My friends and I were most excited to eat at this restaurant. It has great reviews & I have personally eaten here with family before. This time around the experience was terrible. The dining room was dark and dingy and the food was less than mediocre. We had been looking forward to eating the scallops & when they arrived to the table they smelled like ammonia…anyone who knows anything about seafood knows that the ammonia stench means spoiled seafood. Though this is a well established place, serving spoiled seafood for $44 is unacceptable. Had we not used our senses to tell, we could have suffered from food poisoning. One could even tell by the color, that something was off, along with the messy plating. The manager was more than understanding & comped our meals, however, we still ended paying almost $200 for one bottle of Prosecco (retailed at $15) and 3 just okay entrees… I’m truly disappointed that a restaurant of such high standards & prices, could bypass the quality of food. We’re annual Stowe visitors, and we will be sure not to return here. It’s
