We decided to stop in at Dish after exploring some of the roof top bars downtown. We were intrigued by their artwork and offering of small plates. We sat at the bar and we’re glad we did ! The bartender was excellent keeping us involved with conversation and even introduced us to one of the local artists! The food was absolutely fabulous, honestly it was 10 times more than what we expected and we’ll be back very soon!

Husband and I dined here for the first time on a Saturday night after making a 5pm reservation a month in advance. We were greeted by attentive and helpful staff, and our waitress (red hair) was able to walk us through the details of the menu and specials. We ordered calamari and chips and salsa to start and were given fresh complimentary bread and roasted-garlic olive oil. All the food came out on mismatched plate ware with some pieces even having chips in the porcelain. I understand the eclectic look they may be going for, but it ended up looking old and careless. Unfortunately, the bread was dough-y in the middle and bland. The calamari was lightly breaded and fried, but also bland in flavor. The chips appeared to be house made but fried either too long or in old oil as they came out very dark, very oily, and very bland as well. The salsa was fresh and tasted vibrant. We ended up asking for salt and were brought a salt shaker filled with flakey salt. It hardly escaped the holes of the shaker, causing us to look ridiculous as we vigorously shook the shaker, begging for salt to grace our food. We soon became uninterested in continuing with the appetizers as the work it took to get a flavorful bite outweighed the reward.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Great quality food and drink for a very reasonable price. My partner and I only stayed 2 nights in Lynchburg, and we wound up here both nights, we had such a good experience. Friendly bartenders that take the time to make excellent drinks, interesting food specials, a really eclectic art vibe…just loved it!

Wandered into this little gem this evening and was just so impressed by the service, the cocktails, and the food. Excellent service by Austin at the bar and from Dave in the back of house who went out of his way to ensure my husband could eat gluten free. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Fantastic, highly recommend. Very inclusive environment.

My girlfriends and I loved our dinner here. The burrata appetizer was wonderful, as was the pork dish. Everything we saw looked fabulous, and several locals recommended this place.

My wife and I were in Lynchburg doing errands, and we decided on an early dinner before heading back to Danville. Dish was consistently mentioned in reviews as being a top choice in L’burg, so we gave it a whirl. So glad we did! It’s a tapas restaurant, small and quaint. Service was very good, but it was really all about the food. The hummus and flatbread was perfect. We followed that with Basque shrimp, and while it needed salt, once that was procured the dish was terrific. They have housemade bread served with roasted garlic and parmesan in butter. Also terrific. Main course was butter sautéed scallops with a vegetable puree and braised fennel. It was dreamy. We also had coconut jerk cod with black beans and rice, and fried plantain. Absolutely delicious, and the best plantain we’ve ever had. We wrapped up dinner with homemade tiramisu and cannolis with truffles. Again (and no surprise by now), fantastic. Do yourself a favor and visit Dish!

We tried the fried rice with chicken, the curried cauliflower and the empanadas. All three were excellent! The service was spot on and the atmosphere was relaxed.

So many good choices among the specials and the regular menu items! Good wine selection, and the service was attentive. The decor is early funky, combined with oldies music – nice evening.
