I knew it would be good when there was 2 NOPD patrol cars out front.

Food was excellent, service was great even though Ms. Sandy was the only FOH when we were there. She was a rockstar with the to go orders and service. I had the Monday special which was red or white (I chose white) beans, salad and either sausage or pork chop. The only reason I’m giving them 4-stars and not 5 is because I chose sausage and they gave me a minuscule 3-inch sausage, but the guy next to me ordered the same with a pork chop that was the size of my face. I’ll order the pork chop next Monday.

The poboys looked good, but….. you know I had to try the chicken and ribs. The chicken was very fresh and crispy. Skin was perfectly cooked. The actually chicken didn’t have much flavor. At least needs more salt. The ribs on the other hand were amazing. Fell right off the bone. I will definitely be back to try more menu items. Staff was very friendly.

I come here all the time with my partner. We love Sandy. We love this restaurant. I often bring out of town friends to Dixie for the BEST fried chicken in the city. Yes, I’ve tried all the usual NOLA fried chicken, and trust me, I know good fried chicken, and Dixie is the best. I abhor when people try to tout their own personal ill-conceived favorites. Nobody cares. Dixie is the best. Dixie’s ribs are second to no one. Dixie’s Po-boys are way better than that awful Tavern place. Dixie’s gravy and fixins are just sublime. Give me this any day over the rest of NOLA’s junk.

This may be the worst restaurant in New Orleans. We waited over an hour for our meal, the server kept telling us we were next. Then she comes back and tells us they lost the ticket, that our food must have gone accidentally to a go order. They then told us it would be another twenty minutes. Well we decided to leave, and they had the nerve to charge us for our iced teas and a root beer. Do yourself a favor there are far to many good restaurants to eat at in New Orleans.

This place was suggested by my girlfriend and I’m so glad she did. I see why chicken is in the name of the restaurant. Hot, juicy and well seasoned. I have had great chicken in my time and this ranks right up there as one of the best. Small, quaint and a friendly staff made for a great eating experience.

The absolute worst restaurant. Waited over a hour for food just to be told they gave the food to someone else and it would be another 20 minutes which was no longer even a consideration. To top it off they actually charged us for the teas which was the only thing we actually received. Do not waste your time here.
