Fast friendly service. Reasonable prices. Good American classic and Southern Cooking. Good portion sizes. Recommend grilled chicken salad and Philly steak and cheese omelet with home fries. They are known best for breakfasts, omelets, and burgers. Family owned atmosphere.

They gave me peanut butter for my pancakes!! My son and I work 3rd shift and we stopped in a little before 10. Our Waitress Rebecca quickly brought menus and our drink orders. We both got the Hungry Man special and now I can’t decide on what to brag about first… the food, the price, portions or the service. 5 stars all around. I loved the southern hospitality and decor. I will definitely be returning to try the lunch menu.

A friend of mine and I were driving through from North Carolina and decided to give this cute Diner a chance. We walked it and it was less then friendly and the waitresses were gawking at us as if we were visitors from another planet. When we sat down the staff were not friendly and were short with us. This place is very cliquish and seemed to not want us in their little Redneck Clan meeting. The owner seemed nice but quickly showed her true colors as they call another mouth of the south. She seemed to love drama and engaging in it. The food was mediocre at best really nothing to brag about. You can tell that nothing is freshly made and prepared it’s all from boxes, bags or the freezer.

We are new to town and thought we would start checking out the local eating establishments. This looked like the proverbial “hole in the wall”. Our kind of place. You seat yourself upon arrival and get the menu. It is a limited menu which I like. Breakfast items, a few lunch items and sandwiches, dogs and burgers. We ordered 2 Carolina dogs and a burger. These come with chips and a pickle, we chose to add the bacon, cheese fries. Good choice! They have crinkle cut fries and just the right amount of cheese and bacon. My husband said the hot dog was the best he had ever had. PS they ran out of hot dogs, and he only got one. My burger was crispy on the edges and juicy inside. The lemonade was good but not real. The atmosphere was in need of improvement. Could have been cleaner and the wall at could be updated. But if you are looking for a hidden gem and you can enjoy rustic, down home, local eating…. this is the place for you. We will definitely be back.

8/22/2021 was our first venture to Dixie Diner, and I’m gobsmacked! We arrived around 845am. The staff was very sweet and fast checking in on every customer. I had the white gravy and biscuits- just like my Mother made from scratch. I was so full, I had to take blueberry pancakes home. Phenomenal! Husband ordered Country fried steak and eggs w/hashbrowns, cheese grits and a biscuit. Everything came out hot and as ordered. It’s right outside Gastonia city limits. You must try breakfast! Coffee was also very tasty!

So good! So friendly! So nice! Great little side of the road diner with a pretty good sized menu. The back side of the menu is all breakfast! I had the Big Dixie burger and it was excellent. Served hot with crisp fresh veggies on top… delicious! Served by the friendliest people in the world!

I have always ate at this place & loved it. Especially their French toast. Even through all its hardships of keeping employees they have keep a good following. My only complaint is I used to be able to sit in my car & call in a to go order no problem. I knew there would be a wait but the last two times I’ve called while in the parking lot knowing it’s NOT BUSY AT ALL, they tell me it’s a 45 min wait to place a to go order ‍♀️. I just don’t understand because when I walk in it’s not the same response. Guess it’s the 1st come 1st serve thing. ‍♀️

My husband and I ate here for the first time this morning. If I could give 10 stars I would. Our waitress was attentive and prompt. We had breakfast, food was great and came out quickly. This establishment is an absolute hidden gem! Rumor has it, they have the best burgers in town. Can’t wait to come back and try them!
