The people who work here and the service are amazing. The food is also great. I wasn’t sure about the cranberry sauce being on top of my chicken and dressing, but it was really good. Also, inflation has not hit the Dixie Freeze. For a second I thought the bill for three of us was actually for one person. A must stop for good local food served by great people.

Dixie Freeze is the gem of South Pittsburgh, TN. Whether it’s the extra large, juicy, all beef burger, the delicious grilled canjun chicken sandwich, or the creamy, sweet malt shake, Dixie Freeze delivers a delightful punch to my ravenous appetite.

Old School diner that looks like it has been there since the 1950s walked up and ordered a giant burger all the way with fries. They make the food to order. The burger patty was handmade and delicious! Fresh thick slice of tomato, lettuce and onion. The fries were also fresh and delicious. Don’t miss this place if you come to Pittsburg for the Lodge outlet!!

Jumbo burger was good but the french fries were really bad. They were the frozen food variety you would get from a supermarket. Also a bit pricey. 14.00 for burger, fries and large milkshake plus tax. Nice atmosphere from another time but stay away from fries.

It was our 1st time. We love little “mom & pop” local places and frequent them often. I was so disappointed. We arrived around 20 minutes before closing. We ordered 3 burgers with fries. Total was $21-$22. The cook announced he would have to make them fresh….awesome. We got them in a timely manner, actually too quick. My first bite I knew the patty had been microwaved. The meat was rubbery and chewy. Only open 6 hours a day and couldn’t be bothered to dirty up the grill after it was cleaned. I know this because I’ve worked in restaurants. The crinkle fries were good. The bun and veggies were fresh. We won’t be going back anytime soon.

Went in today for the first time and gave it a shot on lunch break. Got a regular burger and some tots, chocolate milk shake and a sweet tea. Food was great, milkshake was made perfect. Will definitely be back.

the wife and I just hiked Russell Cave trails and were in the mood for calories. we just had to have a burger competition between Harvey’s Pirate Drive-In (cheese burger) and Dixie Freeze (southwest burger). we had the dog with us, so the challenge had to be done in the car.
