We went last night and the food was really good. We had catfish, pork chops, chicken (cooked crispy as requested), red beans & rice, black-eye peas & rice, mac & cheese, yams, and collard greens. Strawberry lemonade to drink. Everything was delicious. We did add a little more salt and pepper (as expected at most restaurants). Although we went about an hour and half before they closed everything tasted fresh. Great food and customer service. I highly recommend and will be going back soon!

Had high hopes for this place. Ordered a large collard greens and a large black eye peas. First off definitely not large. Came in small prep containers and definitely not enough for 2 people. Neither had any flavor…just bland. No salt no seasoning of any kind. We had to add a lot of seasoning to make both more palatable. Found maybe 1 small shred of turkey in the greens. The broth in both was clear like water. On the plus side peas were soft and greens tender

The entire order was underwhelming. I ordered from UberEats. The red beans had zero salt. Zero flavor. The greens were so bad I couldn’t get past the first nibble. I’ve never had such poorly seasoned food from a restaurant in my life. Top that all off with fish that was fried until it was completely stiff and dry but the wingettes were pink inside. If I had been an in person patron I would have converse with the chef personally. I’m from the south so I should have known better. This is a disgrace to southern cuisine.

I got the red snapper, catfish, cod, and shrimp meal with the Mac and cheese and red beans and rice on the side… it was the bomb. I definitely recommend this soul food place!!

It’s a mom and pop small business Southern food restaurant. The food was good overall the lady was great getting a seat and helping us decide what to order. The place could have used some updates possibly some tidy up or a little remodel. The music was on point. If you like soul food/southern food this is the spot.

Someone, please correct me if I’m wrong… since I have been in the PNW, southern food is decidedly under seasoned compared to actually eating in the south. I have tried 5 different places, as I enjoy trying new restaurants. Is there a code or something you have to ask for? I am wondering if it is just a PNW taste.

The food was great! You can take your food to go, or sit and eat inside, which we took advantage of. We all enjoyed our food (Greens, Mac and Cheese, Hush Puppies, Potatoe Salad, Red Snapper, Catfish, and Cod) and the service was excellent.
