A great quick dinner after a long roadtrip to Monterey. We had a sourdough bread bowl with clam chowder that hit the spot the first night we were in Monterey. Reasonably priced, too! On another day, we had shrimp sandwiches – there was too much bread and it was dry. Stick with the clam chowder at this place. It was really good. And the staff are awesome!

The oysters and crabs are very delicious! They’re so good we went back for 3 consecutive days in a room. Can’t wait to go back!

Always go here for fresh oysters and coffee. Iunno if Im biased but I like their chowder too. Right at the front and the dude that works the front is always chill n cool.

If I could leave negative stars I would! Was there this weekend with my family and ordered two bread bowls two waters and a juice..30$..I didn’t see him fill up the bread bowls but once we sat down the bowls were full of bread and very little clam chowder! It was very soupy and watery with very little potatoes and clams it was just like a nasty soup…didn’t even finish my whole bowl because it tasted weird within 20 minutes I was cramping sweating and throwing up not to mention the horrible diarrhea for the rest of the day… I will never eat there again it was the most horrible experience I was in pain all day and it ruined my vacation! Save your money and get a bread bowl from a couple places down it’s way better and you actually get clam chowder instead of a bowl of bread!

A great place right on the left side to stop off as you walk onto Old Fisherman’s Wharf for cold water, soda, hot coffee, mocha and hot chocolate, a delicious shrimp and oyster cocktail and so much more… before you stroll the Wharf!

Got the bread bowl with clam chowder. Bread is terrible/old and not fresh. Clam chowder was all potatoes and almost no clams. The guy behind the counter was really nice though.

GROSS PEOPLE AND FOOD!!! The older women working behind the counter was unbelievably rude. She went to give me a dry, open-faced sandwich and I asked if I could have a piece of tin foil (the small sheets she had a bunch of). She rolled her eyes and snapped that everyone always waits until AFTER she’s done before asking to take it to go. She went on to say how annoying it is when people get soup and then ask for a lid. Keep in mind, there isn’t seating. I asked if she ever asked her customers if they would like it to go since it’s such a problem. She replied with a sneer and said, “I have a comment I best not say.” She got the tin foil, handed me my sandwich…no gloves, no mask…after giving me the food, she hissed and sucked her thumb saying she got lemon in her cut!! Ugh! I immediately threw it away. #heathconcerns

Their Clam Chowder was a joke, we did not taste any clams in the chowder but some pieces of potatoes. Totally wasted our money at place. Not recommended.

Got the crab & shrimp cocktail & the octopus cocktail. The crab was dry & barely edible. The shrimp was good but small & 6 shrimp for $5. The octopus was soaked in vinegar & I threw it away. Wasted of $10. I did tip. They wouldn’t let me try the clam chowder.

The chowder is terrible, but even worse the old woman behind the counter is rude. I ordered a small cup of clam chowder ($4) and when I presented my credit card she rolled her eyes at me and barked that they have a $10 minimum for cards. I told her no thank you then, and it went down hill from there. There was no sign anywhere stating the card minimum, somehow I was supposed to just know. Her attitude was completely uncalled for and not appropriate in any service industry job.
