Breakfast here is delicious and you can tell its all made from scratch. My personal favorites are the pancakes and the homefries. My family also likes the biscuits and gravy. Pictured is the cream cheese stuffed French toast.

1st time going, mama, a good friend and her granddaughter. I had the fried chicken breast (YUM) special, macaroni salad, pinto beans n cornbread, all homemade. Mama. Chicken tenders, mashed potatoes covered in gravy, green beans, excellent choice, friend burger n chips. I actually had a friend of my aunts who was the cook there for many years, Joe, who has since passed, had always wanted to eat there, but never made until last week. Its an older Restaurant in Vinton. But well worth the trip. Waiting to try the Salisbury steak which has been highly recommended.

A downtown Vinton staple for as long as I can remember. This place stays packed, and for good reason. Standard breakfast choices, along with sandwiches, burgers, and numerous entrée selections for lunch and dinner, including daily specials. The wait and cook staff both do an amazing job of keeping up with the hectic, busy lunch crowd, and insuring that your food arrives hot and fresh. I had the mac-n-cheese burger and my wife the Ernie’s. Both were excellent! Just a highly recommended, local restaurant!

The Dogwood is my favorite place to eat in Vinton! The food reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking, and that’s saying a lot! I ordered the country fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. I didn’t even need a knife for the steak, it was so tender! My family and neighbors come here often. Relaxed atmosphere with friendly and fast service! Would highly recommend!

Five stars because its local, simple and the service is great. If you want to eat with the locals then go here. Menu is limited but that’s the point in a place like this. Good value for the money. I will say that the potatoe cakes they serve with some of their meals is outstanding. I sincerely mean that. It’s very good. If you’re in the area check it out. Always good to shop/eat local.
