A gem in the middle of Shepherdstown WV. Came in for the first time to meet friends. Stella, who was wonderful, greeted us with a smile and fast service. Our fried pickles were perfectly cooked and served hot. My shrimp and grits were also a delight, with andouille sausage, fresh tomatoes and a perfectly cooked, over easy egg. An addition that worked together with those sweet creamy grits. My wife’s sausage and gravy quiche with a lightly tossed salad was so good. All the dishes served to us were excellent, hot and with a smile. Finally we ended our meal with a delicious chipotle brownie desert, served with a pipping hot fudge, ice cream and some interesting toppings. You’ll have to order this to find out. Lol. The sweet chocolate with a bite in the end. Yum yum. The restaurant was clean and the bathrooms were as well. Very friendly staff. You’ll want to go back, over and over. Oh and don’t forget to walk this friendly, sleepy town.

We ate here this afternoon. We got an entree of scallops, garlic corn, shoestring fries, and basil ice cream for $20. It was a tiny amount of food. It does look pretty on the plate. If the quality were better I maybe wouldn’t complain about the quantity. There were less than ten fries, a tablespoon of corn and ice cream, and about as many scallops as I expected. The ice cream was interesting and very good. None of the hot stuff was hot. The scallops were not good. The corn was way too garlicky, and the fries were sub par. Also the waitress was not friendly and didn’t check on us. It wasn’t even busy yet.

Excellent food, great drinks. We stopped here after a long day and loved the vibe, the comfort food, and the live jazz music on Thursdays. Every weeknight has a drink special and happy hour with delicious appetizers at 25% off. Service was a little slow because they were busy, but the waitresses were friendly and had good tips on the food. Two thumbs up and would definitely go back again.

Not sure what the issue was other than a large party next to us but the wait staff seemed angry and our server showed us a really unpleasant attitude. The food was good 4/5 the chicken on my grilled chicken salad was not grilled and was completely tasteless but the salad was fine. Same thing with the grilled shrimp- not grilled on my mom’s salad. But the fish and chips and spaghetti with meatballs were very good. The service was incredibly slow – 5:30 start to a 7:30 finish – and when we ordered dessert the server brought us the bill instead. Then she took her time returning. We asked the hostess for assistance and she explained, using a lot of words but without explaining, why she couldn’t help us. My request to her to find out server apparently wasn’t heard. Super disappointing- our first time to see the plays and enjoy the town. Guess it was a bad night. The place was really nice and we loved the art. Needs better service.

Love the domestic! Great spot for local beers, music, and inventive, delicious dishes. Fried green beans with homemade ranch dressing are the BOMB. Also love that they cater to vegan/vegetarian crowds, too. Service has always been attentive and wonderful. Dog friendly, too!
