The chicken is the best in the menu. Any meat dishes are great as well. And their side dishes are extremely tasty. They have right amount of flavor. However, the seafood can be improved. It good but has potential to be better with more flavor like in the Elizabeth location.

Love this place. I always get the 1/2 combo don alex which is a hefty portion of super juicy rotisserie chicken (what they are known for) and a large portion of salad and fries. Chicken is tender, hot, and melt in your mouth good. I always pair it with an Inca cola which makes me feel like I’m in Peru again. Must try!

Chaufa rice cost too much for the portion! Any other Peruvian restaurant gives you enough to feed a family! Expressed my concerns and they did not care, I’ll never buy from here again

Great service and very friendly staff. The papa rellena was very good! We got a combo that brings 1/2 a chicken, fries, and house salad. The chicken was good but light on the seasoning for someone who eats Peruvian food regularly.

Wonderful service, delicious food, and beautiful restaurant! My father is from Peru so to have a place so close to me and affordable is so convenient, I will definitely be coming back! The green sauce was very spicy just how I like it!I got jalea and tallarines verde with steak! Shoutout to Jose, he’s a great waiter so patient and kind!

Stopped in for lunch on a random Monday and even though it was totally empty, everything we ordered was great! As a Peruvian from Jersey I’ve been to at least 20 different Peruvian restaurants around the state, and this one definitely makes my top 5! My partner and I got a half pollo a la brasa combo and a jalea to share and both of them were perfectly cooked, with the chicken being juicy and the jalea being crispy and not rubbery. The sauces at the table are always nice, although it kinda surprised me that they had nachos instead of cancha at the table, but honestly I kinda liked it. Hope to come back again soon, I really want to try their other dishes, but I’m definitely ordering more pollo a la brasa!

My first time at Don Alex in Montclair and I was extremely impressed.The matrade was both pleasant and professional which immediately made me feel at home (even though I ordered to go LoL) I ordered the Peruvian chicken & beef fried rice, avocado salad along with the roast chicken and let’s just say I can’t wait to go back and try everything on the menu
