It was a Friday evening, and the ace was basically empty. The service was rather lacking, but I wasn’t going to say anything( I figured it was probably because I have long hair and am native american)until I realized the manager was sitting at the bar 5 feet from me the whole time. You would think on a Friday evening the ace would be busy since the food was good. Evidently, the manager doesn’t have a work space in back and chooses to do her work at the bar while dressed like a customer. She never once got up and checked on any customers. The other employees barely gave me the time of day. I would have had another margaritas IF my server had come around before I was finished. If anyone responds to this, it had better be the district manager.

I had a wonderful experience with my family! I highly recommend this place–the service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was delightful. I enjoyed the choriqueso dip, a refreshing margarita, and a tasty enchilada. I have never been here before but the experience was incredible. The new menu was so authentic and the cocktails were delicious. I foresee this place becoming a traditional place for me and my family to enjoy. I’m impressed with the quality of the food, cocktails and the cozy welcoming ambiance Gee the manager and the servers provide. A must try!!!!

Grand RE-opening today (August 4, 2023). New owners, new menu. A few new items (including “crazy corn”-$5 and a combo fajitas for 2-$42). Trimmed down a few options (no more tamales or piña coladas). Prices a bit higher ($15-$25 for most meals). Atmosphere improvements include new flower boxes, a colorful menu, and an all black server uniform.

Recently opened after a renovation, which might’ve been in the kitchen as the dining area looked the same. Understandably after a reopening things were a little rocky. The food was good, however, in order, we received our dinner first, then our drinks came, then the chips and salsa (which aren’t complimentary but came on the house since they came so late). One of the meals was the 10 taco tablazo, only our order came with 9 (see picture). Took a very long time to get the check as well. Not busy, but it appeared there was only one waiter working the entire restaurant on a Friday night. He was continually apologetic and again, the food was good, so we’ll probably give it another shot down the road with hopes that the service has been ironed out.

New owners, new menu, same furniture but more importantly, a new cook. I honestly did not like the previous restaurants offerings and avoided it, often. It’s really nice to have a decent Mexican restaurant right around the corner and not have to go to say Fair Oaks. This is my second visit in 1 week and we absolutely love the Enchiladas Locals. The Enchiladas Supreme was great on the first visit and that plate was emptied! No worries for garlic, love didn’t have any problems whatsoever but do ask. I’ve read the other reviews and none of the staff have been “rude” (those people are probably neighbors trolls). The staff have been great, ask your wait person for a Presidente Margarita with your meal, yea. Chips & salsa are fab and I got the goods to prove it. Check out my pics!

Great customer services, we were greeted as soon as we came in. The manager and workers are polite. Food was delicious and is a good portion amount. I got Fajitas Aztecas which was amazing. I also recommend the fries birria appetizer! Allan the bartender also made great drinks. I will definitely come back again. The vibe was nice

Calm and quiet place for dinner. We had a better experience than both Guapos and Uncle Julios. Better food, better service and better prices. I encourage others to try this hidden gem. Carne asade and shrimp were both excellent. Daughter also had the beef birrah tacos, was excellent also.

Highly recommend. Especially for anyone looking for San Diego Style Burrito. I’ve never had the burritos in San Diego, so can’t speak to authenticity, but the Mar Y Tierra Burrito was delicious. It is packed with steak, shrimp, and French fries. I’d also recommend asking for extra fries. We also had Burrito Bandarita and a spicy margarita, which were also very good. Bring a wheelbarrow.

Looks like the transition from El Paso to Don Luis is finally taking place and while what we were told was going to happen sounds great, we have been there a few times in the recent weeks and the quality has seemed to get a tad bit worse than it was. I’m hoping its just a transition phase so we will see, but so far it everyone was underwhelmed by the change. I’ll update my review if anything changes.
