I’m sad to see so many poor reviews at Don Pedro’s. That didn’t stop us from having a date night here! We got a table fairly quick and some yummy cocktails before ordering. The portions were so big! I was so full and happy. Everything was delicious! Even the next day leftovers were just as good. I hope those that had a bad experience will give it another try.

I don’t know what part of Mexican culture this is, but as a Mexican myself, I found it offensive. My mothers casual quick meals are significantly better. I ordered three tacos, and my friend ordered a sandwich. Attached are pictures of both. We asked for an IPA, to which they only had non alcoholic available. I asked for the drink prices, and it was unclear as to how much they were. The meat on my tacos looked wonderful, however the taste, was blander than a a stick of unsalted butter. I will not becoming back for a bit, but I have faith. They will likely improve after some time and I will be there to taste the improvement. Chips and salsa cost money, which I understand, however I never ordered them, I ordered queso, without saying chips. Chips were brought to my table, so I was under the impression they were free.

My husband and I drove by and saw that it was no longer a Craft Brewery but a Mexican Cantina. We were so thrilled, we just popped in & thought we would have a margarita and check out the menu. After sitting at the bar and talking with the owner we found out that they won’t have their liquor license until Tuesday 11/29/22. We decided to have an appetizer before we went on our way and we were thankful that we did!

Wanted to love this place, but they’re still working out the little things.

Fairly new place, so we thought we’d give it a try. Our experience was not very good, and we’d recommend eating elsewhere. The prices are expensive; a simple cheeseburger is $15. Unlike most other Mexican restaurants, they charge $5 for chips and salsa, and the salsa was by far the worst we’ve ever had. It basically tasted like someone took tomato paste out of a can and added some water to it. The machete burrito I had was eh, and had more of the tomato paste salsa, and overall rather dry. Another person in our party had a bowl, and the food was extremely greasy.

I went there with a friend around 6 on a friday night. We loved how the place looked with the truck inside and we were seated right away which was nice. We looked at the menu and realized the chips and salsa weren’t included so we paid $5 (a lot of local meixcan places include chips and salsa for free but not a huge deal). When the chips came they were ok, but they gave us one plastic cup of salsa that was half full and looked like it came from a jar. My friend asked about hot sauce they didn’t advertise any options just said a side of hot sauce would be an added charge. Again, a lot of Mexican places have many to choose from at no added charge, they even keep them right on the tables. We ordered palomas and entrees. When the drinks came out I could tell right it away it was squirt soda with tequila. I couldn’t even taste lime. It was not an authentic paloma at all and cost $12!!! So that was the tipping point for us. We canceled our entrees and went to Salena’s instead. BTW the paloma at Salenas is $9 and uses fresh ingredients. Hope this helps!

Don Pedro was a pretty huge let down. The cook staff hygeine was questionable, service was pretty poor- though the hostess was very sweet and helpful, and waitress was nice but majorly lacking service skills. We were a party of 2, only drank water and were ready to order our appetizer and entree before she got to us. After taking our order, I watched the waitress get drinks of water, put in several orders, and chit chat before I decided to ask the hostess if she could remind her to get our water because we were rather parched. She just ended up serving us herself (again sweet and helpful). The food came after about 10 or 15 minutes and was deplorable. Unseasoned, greasy and dry at the same time (if that evenmakes sense) and was missing components of the dish described per yhe menu. Not to mention, while waiting to be served, I could see a member of the kitchen (seemingly a lower ranking chef) using a tissue and then a kitchen rag to plug and wipe his running nose all with gloves hands. At this point we almost walked out, but he did end up changing gloves (not entirely sure there was a hand washing in between). Needless to say when we got our food, we couldnt finish it and decided that pretty early on. Waited to see if the waitress would come back to check in and see if our food was good but nothing… finally decided to just go to the hostess stand and pay the bill there. On a lighter note the decor and atmosphere was beautiful and pleasant. Ultimately, would not reccomend.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is great. The service was acceptable. The margaritas were average. They were out of a few flavors which was a bummer. The food took surprisingly long. I wish they had the option to get chips and salsa. I wouldn’t recommend it for dinner as the menu doesn’t match the food delivered. For instance, I ordered Don Pedro Tacos. The tacos were supposed to be grilled steak and have guacamole. I got reheated beef and no guacamole and the elote appetizer ordered didn’t have cheese. The restaurant is large and it has a bunch of tvs to watch a game and have a drink if you are in the area.

3rd day open, just happened by to realize something had moved into the old brewery site in the plaza. Service was quick and friendly. Atmosphere was inviting but the food was fantastic! Owner has roots in the food scene of Rochester for years and was more than happy to strike up a great conversation. They will also be utilizing the existing brewing equipment to bring a one of a kind experience to the area next year with their own authentic locally brewed Mexican beers as well as local collaborations. Fully stocked bar that covers all tiers.

Not as authentic as I expected on our Valentine’s dinner. Some advise, never try out a new restaurant for any special day, go where you know. Back to the review; if it could come out of a can, it did. Our dinner entre had no flavor on the meats. Prices were a little steep, at least double the price. They charged for salsa and chips and that should have been complimentary. The salsa was bland, like something out of a can of tomato paste with no chunks or flavor. The cheese dip was way too heavy and spicy. The chips themselves were good and the water was actually pretty good. Those are the highlights, other than a building that was once occupied by the “WhichCraft Brewery”. The name “Don Pedro” really doesn’t fit the restaurant nor the choice of contemporary music for which they were playing for an “authentic” Mexican restaurant. At least in Webster, I can vouch for Maria’s in the village of Webster, Coronas across from Target and I’ll even through in Monte Alban as a better experience. Sorry to be brutal, but I’ve been around to know better. This is our experience, season to taste of course. Thanks
