This is a funky little takeaway spot. I was welcomed by a very friendly and helpful gal who walked me through the concept and menu. So there’s no dine in so just know it’s not a date spit but the food is great to bring home. Portions were good size and the noodles were nice. Bought the squid ink with quattro formaggi sauce which admittedly overtakes the squid ink. Next time, maybe just Alfredo sauce. Also had to try the chicken park. The marinara was nice and it had a ton of melted cheese on it. Both bowls were super comforting. Also got like a half a loaf of bread loaded with butter, cheese, garlic, and bacon. Tons of food.

I visited Don Rigatoni tonight for the first time. I drove from Sarasota to Tampa after hearing about this restaurant while listening to the Mike Calta Show – which I’ve listened to every morning for the past 18 months on the way to work. Mike and the other hosts said the food was great so I had to give it a try.

Be aware-TAKEOUT ONLY. I’m conflicted. We expected to dine in because nothing online or in their door said take out only. There’s no dining area and it was very unexpected/annoying. The guy taking our order was wearing a shooting range T-shirt with a cap; it felt so random for a nice looking place. Food was very good and it wasn’t disappointing. But because the atmosphere wasn’t there to compliment it, I’m conflicted. It makes sense why there’s so many bad reviews on UberEats; by the time the food gets to you, it’s cold and not the same way they sent it out. That’s why doing takeout for Italian blows my mind. It’s risky! I’m sure the business is saving a lot of money tho; staff, dine-in set up, etc. Good for them but I’m probably not coming back. ($50 for 2 people at a no dine-in place)

I found Don Rigatoni on Uber Eats because it was highly rated. However, I was highly disappointed by the quality of the food (I ordered Spaghetti with the marinara sauce). The noodles look homemade but were over cooked. The sauce lacked flavor. I’m not sure what I missed, but I would not order again.

I ordered a create your own pasta dish with gnocchi, meatballs, tomato, and ricotta cheese. Highly recommend this place everything was cooked perfectly! The sauce was fantastic and had such a wonderful flavor. Delivery was also quick from Uber eats.

I went here on thanksgiving because it was the only place open near by. It ended up being an amazing experience on top of the food being excellent. The owners were so sweet and they genuinely love what they do. They helped us select a bottle of wine that both matched our usual taste and pushed us to try something new which perfectly matched our meals. The wine was amazing and imported from Italy but at a really affordable price. We barely even had to wait for the food and it was so so good and fresh. Highly Highly Highly recommend ordering from here if you want Italian take out

Three stars because the homemade pasta was cooked perfectly. The rest was incredibly underwhelming. Had two sauces, tomato and cream and a bolognese. Both were awful, tasted like something you’d get a middle school cafeteria. I had such high hopes based on the reviews but won’t be back 🙁

This is what arrived as a take out order. The “lasagna” is cold and extremely undercooked. The grayish mess is “chicken alfredo” with what I assume is dried Italian seasoning from Gordon’s Food Service. We are missing half our order and the rest is inedible. I’ve honestly had better MREs and DFAC food than this garbage and I didn’t have to pay $50 bucks for diarrhea. Save your money and buy some Chef Boyardee.

Bought empanadas that were frozen from the inside. The owner was sweet and apologized for their mistake and refunded the amount. They also wanted to re-make the empanadas but I had lost my appetite by then. I feel the owner should create standard work instructions and train all new hires on the best practices for preparation of food.
