This is the best Italian food that you can get around here, in the modern, high end sense of Italian cuisine. It comes in a sophisticated, not pretentious ambiance. The wine list includes some of the best and rarest Italian bottles available and the cocktail list is worth the visit alone.

My fiancée booked this place to surprise me for a birthday dinner. I was skeptical because he’s not the best at choosing restaurants. I asked to go to some place that serves organic, real, thoughtful yet rustic food. This restaurant hit all of those points. Everything was delicious. We got the radicchio salad, dived into the spaghetti Neri and the calamari and octopus dish. We wanted more food as portion are about medium size. We then added the truffle ravioli; downed everything with wine and left happy. Service was excellent also- no BS and quick, thanks for a nice time!

The service and atmosphere at Donato and Co was wonderful. The food was delicious and quality as well. I was a bit confused by the bruschetta, traditionally it’s less of a sauce and more chunky with fresh tomatoes so that was a bit strange. I would have preferred the more authentic style. The burrata saved it for me though because that combination was excellent. The Cacio e pepe was RICH! I guess I should know that. It was delicious nevertheless, but I might try something new next time with more veggies. The homemade spaghetti was perfectly Al dente. The fettuccine duck special, though really high quality, was missing an element for me. Perhaps tomato or a sauce to really tie it all together? The fresh pasta was delicious and the duck was cooked perfectly. Overall, it was just a little one note. All-in-all, the quality and the service cannot be beat. I’ll have to give it another try to see what else that have to offer.

The overall ambiance at this place was nice and the service was quick and attentive. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing especially for the prices they charge. We had the sea bass and the lamb chop. Both were extremely under seasoned and bland. Not what you would expect for $40+ a plate.

Handsome, comfortable dining room, and despite its size, quiet enough to have a conversation without shouting. Fantastic wine list exploring most Italian regions, with reasonable prices, and amaro flight was a great value. Service was warm and intelligent. Tomato in caprese salad was just ok, but cotoletta was fantastic.

Really great food and love the ambience! We stumbled upon this restaurant in the evening and decided to give it a try. They have tables outside with heat lamps (major plus) and the waiter immediately greeted us. I got the SPAGHETTI NERI (squid ink, calamari, garlic, Calabria spicy peppers, oven-dried Roma tomato, bottarga) and it was delicious! Need to like eating things from the sea to appreciate this dish, as it is flavorful. We also got the tomato appetizer, which was nutritious and delicious. And their homemade pizza and biscotti too. Left feeling satisfied. And happy to try a new great restaurant.

Celebrated a birthday dinner here. Overall we had a great experience. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and its a really nice space. I highly recommend the Calamari and Octopus main(see pic), the pork chop, and the Salumi appetizer. We ordered the brussel sprouts as a side and they were pretty bland.

Seriously the best Italian restaurant in the Bay Area. Everything from the pasta, to the bread and the desserts are made in house. Beautiful ambiance, great service, wonderful food, lovely bar and wine selection. Lastly, the prices are not insane.
