I am so glad me and my mom found this place, the owner is absolutely incredible and such a joy to talk to. We walked in and instantly got greeted by the owner and who we assumed, the cook, and they were both welcoming, friendly men. We got talking to the owner before placing our order and he was so easy to talk to, we got deep into getting to know the business and the history, we felt like we’ve known each other forever, very comforting! Me and my mom placed our order and both got the BBQ chicken, collard greens, Mac and cheese(my mom got the potato salad) and it came with sweet potato cornbread, We also got the Banana Pudding and the Pumpkin Cheesecake. If you’ve read this far all I can say is PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE get over there, it’s all homemade and it shows, these are deep rooted recipes that deserve a taste from everyone. We took our order to go and my mom couldn’t even wait the 10 minute ride home before she dug right in. Everything was so so delicious and comforting, and so flavorful (I’m writing this review after eating everything and now it’s making me hungry again) this place deserves a loyal customer base and I wish nothing but great things for them over there. Without a doubt me and my mom will be coming here again and again. And the fact we have it right in our back yard is the highlight of my year! And when I didn’t think it could get any better………. THEY CATER AS WELL !!!! We will be seeing you again, very soon. Hands down the best Soul food establishment!! Forever loyal customers!

I was looking for a spot to grab breakfast on a Saturday. I found Dootsie’s Kitchen was close so I arrived just as they slightly before they opened. I asked what the owner what he’d recommend for a first time customer if he wanted to get me to talk about how great his food was to friends. *Spoiler alert: THEY FOOD IS GREAT. * He recommended the French Toast Waffle and Chicken. I ordered it and it took a while to prepare. I only noticed because I had skipped breakfast and I was getting Hangry. A hangry persons looks at the clock when waiting for their order like everyone else looks at the time clock at the end of the work on Friday.

Great spot. I popped in here to meet up with ppl and have a casual lunch. I ordered the shrimp and grits with their homemade lemonade or punch. The food was a bit salty but delicious, and the punch was amazing. We also shared wings, which were good, and my son had the chicken and waffles, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We stayed there for a few hours, catching up and conversing. The owner never rushed us. He even came over and joined the conversations. We will be returning.

Read.. nice location, great customer service, but the food wasn’t it for me and it hurts to say I am very honest person and if you follow me I love some good soul food. I think I caught them wrong time of the day. I got Fried chicken wings mac & cheese and yams I know places have day old stuff but sides wasn’t fresh killed me fr I was looking forward to that and the wings was fry good but the lemon pepper chicken wasn’t cooked cooked if you know what and it wasn’t cleaned well still feathers on for 20 dollars I need my bird done right do you hear me lol but I think they open later in the day they will be more prepared 5 stars when the food was a 0 sorry guys ! A1 customer services tho !

Found them on GrubHub, prices are reasonable and they don’t put pork in everything! Nice chicken portions and delicious Mac and cheese they forgot my Cornbread w my meal. Collards could use more flavor but other than that nice experience. I want to try the Whiting Fish next time.

SO excited!!! So good! So clean! Fresh and delicious. We got the pineapple bbq and hot spicy wings – they came with fries 6 for $10. their cornbread is sweet potato cornbread – tastes like cake! hubby got fried whiting (cornmeal) with collard greens (cut with cabbage) candies yams – yum yum yum. i had baked bbq quarter chicken dark with collards too and black-eyed peas (nice & soft). the collards and BEP were delicious- i don’t think smoked but very slow-cooked! and lastly the banana pudding with strawberries – gurrllll YUMMO! go support a small business! a black-owned small business!! I can’t wait for breakfast fish & grits or shrimp & grits or chicken & waffles!!! go go go!!!
