I used to frequent this place weekly when I worked in the building next door but have not been back for several years because I changed jobs. I really missed their spinach dumplings and was excited to swing by after my appointment at Kelsey Seybold. It’s unfortunate that it was a bit of a disappointment. They must have changed their dough recipe and as other recent reviews have mentioned, the dough is way too thick (you can clearly see in my photo). The spicy sauce is nowhere near spicy. Doubt I will swing by again if I have another appointment in the vicinity.

I have no idea how the reviews of this place is so high….There are far better and more authentic dumpling places in downtown that have reasonable prices. I’m not coming back here. $12 for a bowl of flavorless broth and flour noodles. 10 dumplings for $10. This is highway robbery for expensive dumplings and terrible soup that’s FLAVORLESS (not event salt). The dumplings are NOT COOKED, tough, and FLAVORLESS. Even before putting on a sauce, steamed dumplings should have some tenderness and flavor that still taste good without sauce. Only bad dumplings rely 100% on the dipping sauce for flavor. The dipping sauces have way too much sugar in it. The extra spicy sauce isn’t even spicy.

This place used to be the best. However, I am giving it 1 star for the following reasons and it might sound a bit harsh but it is not my intention to be mean, I just want to raise awareness to management:

Why are there not more people going crazy for these dumplings!!! They are delicious!!! If you are not a vegan, the veggie dumplings will make you wanna switch over. My favorite are the pork ones. So good. I worked in those towers 20 years ago and I dream about the next time I am around downtown during the times they open.

Food was fast but the dumplings were pretty doughy and the meat inside didn’t inspire me enough to actually finish the first dumpling I tried to eat. The fried rice was okay but had a lot of cabbage in it. I personally don’t recommend this place.

Terrible. Worst dumplings ever. Gummy and taste like they’re filled with dogfood. They don’t offer them any other way besides steamed. Do not recommend.

Best steamed dumplings downtown. I have been going for many years. Consistent, fast, and delicious. The dumplings are presteamed, hearty and filling. Their homemade sauce is perfect to dip the dumplings in. There’s usually a long line that moves very quickly. They have a very effiecient ordering process that more resurants should study and take notes. I’m glad they are going strong during these times.

Been eating the veggie dumplings off and on for about 10 years. They seem to have recently changed the fold technique. Massive amounts of unappetizing fluffy floury dough pinched to hold no filling. Needs fixing. Used to be a fave!

I received my dumplins fresh from the steamer.

Chicken dumplings were very chewy and borderline unpleasant in taste. Noodle soup was not much better, couldn’t finish it. Definitely, the last time I am visiting this place.
