I ordered 3 piece whiting fish combo with 2 sides, candied yams and macaroni and cheese. I also tried potato salad, chicken wings, and cornbread. Everything was a 10/10, no complaints. The food was extremely fresh and well-seasoned! One of the chefs came out and greeted us, asked if everything was good. Friendly customer service, definitely will be coming back again.

I’d give them 6 stars if I could. Not your typical looking soul food joint, but I like the concept & everything was amazing! I had fried whiting fish, wings, collard greens, yams, & mac and cheese. You want be disappointed in Dorothy Maes. Just keep in mind it’s on the backside and there name isn’t visible. It’s in the Boxette Kitchen.

Just let me say my grandmother’s name is Dorothy Mae and she can cook! So when I came across Dorothy Mae’s Soul Food Kitchen I had try it! I knew before I tried it, it was going to be legit! Best soul food in this area (I have tried them all)! The food was season to perfection without being too salty and the Mac and cheeses…. Yes, Mac and cheeses (clap hands )was amazing! Fried chicken was beautifully fried without the nasty feathers everywhere (snap fingers)! Awesome!!! Thank you for a wonderful experience! Will definitely be a repeat customer!

The food was amazing! Chicken wings were hot, fresh, and seasoned; they weren’t battered with a traditional southern batter but were delicious. The greens and mac & cheese were amazing, just like grandma’s house; cornbread was amazing too. Sweet potatoes were just ok, but I would definitely return. Need to make more explicit on your Google page/maps that the restaurant is in a shared kitchen with a different name; dope concept but made it hard to find. The chef coming out to say thank you for the support was amazing, too!!!

This was my first time trying Dorothy Mae’s Soul Food and it was delicious! the prices are reasonable for the great quality of food. The chef also took time out of her day to thank us for stopping by and welcomed us with a positive attitude. She was very personable and so was the other staff who helped take orders, prepare, and deliver the food. My experience was a beautiful one, and I’m highly satisfied with the order I received! I will gladly be returning.

Okay, first, let me say how much I appreciated how the food was packaged. Beautiful. Second, ITS ABOUT TIME homemade macaroni and cheese and greens actually taste homemade in the South! . Food was hot and tasty. Collards were tender and the potato salad was also very tasty and was delightful. Fried chicken wings were decent and all food accurately portioned for the cost. Enjoyed the experience and pleased with the service and delicious food. I will be back for sure.
