My go-to spot in the neighborhood. I come here for the yummy sammies but honestly the menu looks delish (kale, beef, beet bowls, smoothies, plantains). Come here. Support neighborhood establishments owned by REAL people who will talk to you and create community. That is rare, and IMO will be a thing of the past in rapidly gentrifying DC.

What a great place! The ‘Primo Avocado’ sandwich w/Pastrami is a solid choice. The coffee is good, fresh, and affordable. The ‘Veggie chili’ is a great dish if you’re eating in. And the Vegan chocolate muffins are delicious, even if you aren’t vegan! The owner of Dos Gringos can be seen busting out dishes, attending to customers, and just flat-out being a gem of a human being! Shes one of my favorite people to interact with in the entire Mount Pleasant block. Also, Dos Gringos accepts cash AND cards unlike some pretentious places that require you to have a checking account, just to buy a muffin!!!

I recommend this charming place. I had one of the day’s specials when I was there – an avocado wrap that was very good. The inside looked pleased but it was a nice day so we enjoyed the outdoor seating on the second level. It’s a cafe but we ordered inside and our order was brought outside where we were sitting.
