This was our second time there and the food is very good. Today was busier than last time, but we attributed that to another restaurant nearby closing down this past week. Still service was friendly and attentive. The diner was packed, but understandably so because they offer good food and a fair value. The atmosphere is fun and nostalgic. We will be back and would recommend this place to others. Had a club sandwich with fries, an omelette with hash browns, and ice water and a coffee and spent $32.26.

Ordered take out and they completely messed up my order. I ordered Texas toast (they didn’t give me this at all) and ordered my egg over easy. It was cooked hard. I guess since I don’t have toast to dip into the runny yolk, it all balances out *eyeroll*. I also ordered feta (paid extra for it) and they left this out also. The gyro meat was good. That’s the only reason I can give 2 stars and not one. Just didn’t have anything else I ordered to eat with it. PIf you don’t mind paying for or getting food that’s decent but wrong or missing completely from your order then go ahead, get it here.

And some places are located right in your back yard. Well….2 miles north of the compound. Never stopped here in my 8 years residing here but very clean and a retro feel. The owner seated me and provided the history. It’s been his restaurant for 8 years and he spruced it up with all the memorabilia. A true flashback to the 50’s and 60’s. Definately a place where seniors like myself really enjoy a good meal. Like the ham and cheese omelet with pepper jack cheese. Yes, your choice of real cheese. Support your local establishments.

Not from this area, was here for athletics tournament. Had a rain delay so ran for breakfast. I placed my order online for curbside. I called when I got there which was about 20 min before my order was to be ready so I called and said I’m here and right outside the door whenever it’s ready. I called again 5 min after my pickup time and asked for status. It was ready and no one brought it out so when the hostess brought it to my car it was already room temp. I got back to the school about 8 min later and opened everything to eat with my son and no utensils. We ate our breakfast with our fingers as I don’t keep forks in my pocket. Food was very greasy to the point grease ran down our hands to our wrists while pulling apart and eating the omelette, hash browns, and breakfast nachos. Didn’t eat the pancakes due to no forks. The portion size was good but the toast was spongy and I could not even bite a bite, a big tear of toast came off and I had to pull it apart with my hands. I would have been better off across the parking lot at the golden arches. The staff was courteous and the portion size is good so two stars for that but the coating of grease at the roof of my mouth is gross from my food.

I’ve been here a few times. I’ve had breakfast and lunch. Wait staff is fine. Food is not that great. It’s just ok. The breakfast options around here (Caledonia) are pretty limited unfortunately. Like everywhere else they hide rising food costs by charging an arm and a leg for beverages. $3.50 for a cup of coffee?

Our favorite restaurant! Wish they were open later, we could eat every meal here! How is it so delicious and not pricey? There are so many other restaurants around that charge more and you get so much less. Fish fry is AMAZING! The pesto chicken panini is my favorite after the fish fry. Food is always hot and fresh, dine in or pick up!

Took a friend to lunch here today. Greeted by a hostess who must have been having a bad day. Waitress came to take our order. Another sourpuss. I ordered two eggs poached runny with bacon. My friend ordered a strawberry chicken salad which came with a dinner roll. When I mentioned senior discount, the waitress snarled and said something to the effect of we don’t have that. Approximately 25 minutes later our food arrived. Another waitress told us the kitchen was running behind. When the waitress sat down my eggs, she said she knew that was not how I ordered them..hard as a rock…and should she take them back? Well duh. Second batch came out not much better. I gave up. Had to ask another waitress for the dinner roll. If order the chicken salad, you have to hunt and peck to find the chicken. When I went to pay, I told Miss Happy how disappointed we were and that we would not be back. The owner came over and started yelling at me saying his cooks have over 20 years experience and he really didn’t care if we were unhappy because his has a bunch of 5 star reviews. We knew the previous owner Steve and he would be embarrassed to know how I was treated.

Been here a few times and it’s always a decent value. Went yesterday because I saw they were in the finalists for best Friday fish fry. I did the fried cod with potato pancakes and cole slaw. The breading on the fish is thick. Overall, I did enjoy the fish, but I thought it was a little too oily and too salty. I can see how others might like it this way but I would only rate it as above average. Potato pancakes were also over oily and salty. I really liked the cole slaw and the array of sides to choose from. Service and value were both good.
