I was very impressed with the dinner I brought home from Doveshack today! Flavorful smoked meats with multiple sides to choose from. We ordered a little of everything and all of it was high quality (and the portions are very generous). Thinking about making this a Sunday tradition for my family.

I got the pork ribs. It was all they had ready at 1100 and the only slab ready but the sign was flashing open. Lol. The ribs were tough, dry and very salty! I wish I knew how the other products are but unfortunately, I will not be visiting again based off the ribs. This is my 2nd time having the ribs. The 1st time was the same but I thought it might have been because of going later in the day. This time I went early and they were still dry and tough. Just not for me. Please support as it might be what you desire. All bbq isn’t for all people.

Do yourself a favor and get some ribs. I had been once before and gotten the brisket sandwich, and I wasn’t super impressed. I am incredibly glad I went back and got a full rack of ribs, it’s the best smoked meat I ever bought from a guy on the side of a road. That may sound like a qualified statement, but I love the folks who do this and these guys smoke a mean rack of ribs.

Pretty disappointed in the food. The staff was nice but that is the only nice thing I have to say. Half of their menu wasn’t ready at lunchtime. I ordered the brisket combo with collared greens and coleslaw. I also ordered a smoked sausage. It was $24! The brisket came on a soggy bun, with barely any sauce and the brisket was tasteless and chewy. If your slogan is “Taste the smoke… It ain’t no joke”, then I should have at least tasted smoke. The sausage had no topping and none available outside to be put on. The collard greens were clearly out of a can and the coleslaw was mediocre at best. I wish I could say that I enjoyed at least one menu item, but I can’t.

I was very excited to finally try this place but unfortunately was very disappointed. I got the pulled pork sandwich and beans and it was less than fulfilling. The sandwich was made with soggy bread, barely any bbq sauce and the pulled pork was fatty and bland. The beans tasted like Bush’s Baked beans….. I had very different expectations for this small business and willing to pay a bit more for a quality product…. I will stick to Mission BBQ; same amount of money for more quality food.

1st time. Wanted something other than Mission BBQ and Famous Dave’s, as those are our normal go to bbq stops. We drove 40 minutes to get to it. My husband found it online and wanted to try it because it’s highly rated. We can see why. This place has amazing bbq and sides. Reasonably priced and friendly service. We’ll be back soon. Thanks for an amazing real deal bbq experience.
