The Downshift Diner is a hidden gem that almost went unnoticed amidst the allure of larger fast food joints. I’m glad I stopped by! The excellent service and delicious food made it a memorable experience. I’ll definitely be returning for another visit. Highly recommended!

A random little diner in the middle of nowhere. It’s a cute place to stop and stretch your legs, grab a bite and hit the toilets before filling up and hitting the road.

Well I stopped for the night and just happened to see this little place and if you are a driver and eat there you can park in the parking lot. Food was good and hot they wasn’t busy at all. The service was good and place was clean. If you want something other then the truck stop food or fast food give it a try.

Very cute place, looks like a hole in the wall but is very clean and food was great! Fried mushrooms were large portioned, Philly cheese steak with onions came out hot and were delicious! Our server was prompt and did a great job! We will definitely save this place in map’s for our next trip through here. Even the music was oldies. If you want good food and neat experience, check it out!

The server made my whole visit! Young lady was running (literally) by herself. Kudos and thank you! I had the BBQ Beef sandwich special of the day.

Cute diner, reasonable prices. AMAZING FOOD. Best philly cheesesteak I have had in YEARS. Look forward to the next time I’m in the area.

Decent and worth a visit. Cute local place, all the other tables seemed to know each other- a good sign if locals are regulars. The food was good and not too expensive, we may have just come in at the wrong time as several tables were just seated or ordering. If you are in a hurry this is not the place for you- took just a bit longer than expected, but the waitress was friendly and working as best she could.

The food was good. My Philly was delicious and me and my daughter enjoyed the fried mushrooms together. She got the spaghetti, which was her first time having sauce with sugar in it and she really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed that the food was fresh, fresh veggies in the salad, fresh jalapeños, not that pickled, canned garbage on the Philly cheesesteak. It was great. Lots of old timer, locals eating there which is always a good sign and I love that it’s a private owned establishment & not some corporate chain. Waitress (young lady with snake bite piercings, can’t remember her name) was sweet, efficient and juggled 2 call in orders, a walk in, and 5 tables with ease in my time there as well as checking out customers and cleaning. I give her 5 stars alone! Here’s my one gripe & something that kind of made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. After asking what town I was in so I could highlight it in my maps for future visits as I drive through the area often for travel from the Southeast to Midwest, the VERY FIRST THING that popped up in my Google feed was unsolved murders that happened in what I’m 99% sure what this building. I just feel like, at minimum, a sign with info on who to contact if you know info on the murders or a memorial would be ideal. I don’t know why but it’s just a bit off putting for me knowing something so horrid happened here and patrons just waltz through the area unknowingly as I’m sure most patrons/as well as the murderer, are probably travelers. Just a thought. Idk.
