Might be the creamiest ice cream I’ve ever had and I’ve had alot of ice cream in my life. Scoops are small for the price but it helps with calorie count I guess and the taste still rates 5 star. Young workers kind of slow, but deliberate and careful with your order. Nice little book den and board games for younger customers. Very thoughtful.

Went here with my sister while I was visiting her. They make awesome Lavender coffee. My sister ordered it so I don’t remember the exact name. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is very comfortable and inviting.

I have no idea why I have not come into Downtown Coffee and Cream before today! The interior of this establishment is adorable and cozy! The variety of ice creams made me wish that I had more room to eat the different ice creams that were available. I will definitely be back in the future to try their other options. We also ordered coffee which was prepared to my expectations. There were a variety of options for drinks and I will be back to try those as well! Do not miss out on this gem in downtown Onawa.

Downtown Coffee and Cream in Onawa, IA. Photos are of indoor seating, kids nook with books and little toys, the counter with owner, Shawna. Only been open on the widest street in the USA for about a month. Hand scooped ice cream, shakes, malts, and coffee drinks with a variety of flavor syrups available. The black cherry and burnt butterscotch ice cream were delicious. Friendly staff and tables are just right for game night. “Off street” parking and clean restroom. Perfect spot to take a break while out exploring the Loess Hills or following Lewis and Clark.
