Went for lunch on a Friday with my sister. I ordered the Very Vanilla cold brew with almond milk. It was perfectly sweetened and smooth. For our meals, she ordered the shapiro chicken caprese with fruit, which she enjoyed. I ordered the plantstrong black bean burger with chips. The black bean burger is impeccable. Delicious freshly made patty, and the tahini only takes the sandwich to another level. Service is good and prices are very reasonable. Love how many options they have for vegans/vegetarians too. We’ve visited several times and Downtown Deli is one of our favorite restaurants in Spartanburg!

This was our first visit to this establishment, and we were not quite sure what to expect. That said we were pleased with the menu offerings, excellent service, and most importantly delicious food. I sampled the Manny sandwich with broccoli slaw as my side. By the way, I enjoyed the kick of the salad. The meat on the Manny was tender with herbal flavors that enhanced the sandwich without overpowering it. My wife tested their claim of having the best chicken tenders in the Burg. The result: among the best if not THE best. It is hard to believe they can serve as many dining options as they do in such a smallish, quaint space. We will definitely return to sample other selections.

I had a delicious lunch with a friend here a few days ago. I had the Shrimp Po Boy, the shrimp were cooked to perfection absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed their coffee, and a complimentary donut since it was my first time visiting. Both were also very good. Definitely will go back for other menu choices, really enjoyable spot.

I got the Reuben and it was definitely hitting all the marks! Balanced flavor and meat to sauerkraut to cheese ratio. Not too much dressing, and crispy on both sides with a great marble rye bread. Get one!

The food was really great, but the customer service wasn’t. The service was great until after we received our food. Then we were never checked on for refills or any other needs. The staff was very irritated when I finally was able to get their attention for a refill. I let her know that I felt like I was being a burden, but she just brushed it off.

Traveler, the path of your life is about to change. I am from the future, where you are much happier, and let’s be honest, a little fatter, because you discovered Downtown Deli & Donuts in Spartanburg, South Carolina. My family and I stopped here on our way to Charleston, seeking a way to get off of the Interstate and away from the maze of chain restaurants. In doing so, we have changed the course of history by partaking in the finest donuts we have ever eaten. My kids ordered a chocolate peanut butter donut that was exceptional, and a glazed donut that was light and fluffy and magical. Another child of mine ordered a chocolate croissant, and that looked amazing. Alas, she ate it fast and could not be distracted.
