High hopes, mediocre results. Everything was going great until the first bite of bacon. It was old, it had probably been in the fridge too long. Owner was nice enough and wife in back made excellent looking and tasting food, except bacon. I informed the owner and he said the another table didn’t eat theirs either. He blamed the supplier but there is no way a supplier delivered that. Potatoes were very good as was biscuit and gravy.

The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making for a great start to my day. But what truly stood out was the delicious breakfast. Breakfast was cooked to perfection, I ordered eggs over hard and got exactly what I wanted, and the presentation was top-notch. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic breakfast experience with a great ambiance. A must-visit!

We had the opportunity to visit this establishment on 1/28/2020. On entering we were warmly greeted. The atmosphere was very homey, like walking into grandma’s house. We were from Spencer, and had heard about this place from a friend. The service was impeccable (coffee cup was never empty), and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend the Downtowner to absolutely everyone. Thank you and you’ll positively see us again.
