Food was good the turkey and dressing lacked seasoning. Country fried steak was tender. But 2 slices of green tomatoes for fried green tomatoes is not enough.

Step back in time and enjoy a small town diner. Try out one of the daily specials. I had turkey and gravy with collard greens, candied yams, and green salad. It also included cranberry sauce and cornbread muffins. The greens were cooked like my mom’s and were delicious. It’s kind of hidden but easy to find right across the street from the public library.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. And really awesome food, I had the 1 meat and 3 vegetables and it was the best food I had during my week long roadtrip. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Selma. It did smell a little moldy inside and also it’s not in the best shape, but so much better than fast food chains.

Tired of fast food & drive-thru’s & found this lovely little spot by accident today… Food was wonderful && staff was friendly. We had a much needed home cooked type meal for reasonable price!!

The Downtowner is fun – sort of like stepping back in time to a small town diner in the 50’s, without the typical kitsch that usually accompanies this vibe. The burgers were fine and they offer a good selection of alcohol-free beverages.

Fresh food but not very organized. Biscuit was dry little bit. Went there around 8am. There are using all the disposable cutlery which is good.
