I love Dozo. This place is my favorite food truck nearby; the food is incredible, the workers are kind, l couldn’t ask for a better Japanese food truck. I am so passionate about this place that I complied a rating of each thing I’ve tried.

Wow. Best Tonkatsu I’ve ever had. Service was super friendly and food came out hot and fast. Get a friend and run to DOZO and get some the best food in Eugene/Springfield.

A friend brought takeout from Dozo’s for lunch and it was fabulous. The tonkatsu sandwich was crisp to perfection with pillowy-soft bread, the gobo salad was hearty with nice sesame flavor in the dressing, and the yakisoba had great texture and flavor. Looking forward to ordering in person.

The owner is a great person. Dropped my sandwich after he handed it to me, totally my fault.

The food here is absolutely fantastic. The cart might seem unassuming, but the quality of the food speaks for itself. The chefs working here clearly know what they’re doing. My only suggestion: as good as the brothless ramen is, please add a ramen option with broth!

Said it would be a 15 minute wait, it took 40 (which I could forgive if the food were good.) Rice balls were a scam, it’s basically a pound of completely unseasoned bland rice and they literally put almost no filling. My girl got the okonomiyaki, it was like eating undercooked pancake batter. We both tossed most of it away. I almost never leave bad reviews and I know its kind of petty but this was such a waste of money and time I feel I have to save future victims the misery and heart ache…

Read about Dozo in the paper and it’s relation to Izakaya Meiji and figured I should give it a shot. Ordering was easy, and food was very fast. They even had guava and passion fruit juice cans. The food was great, and I’ll have to come by for a rice ball whenever I’m in the area now.

I can’t believe it. I bought something with pork belly and it was LITERAL BACON. Yes I know bacon is derrived from pork belly, but when you SERVE it as pork belly, it needs to be actual pork belly. There is a distinct culinary difference. Worse, the takoyaki and yakisoba were drowning in their flavored sauces, so much so everything tasted the same. Could not eat it and that’s $27 bucks down the drain. My recommendation should the chef read this: Stop covering everything in nori shake. It’s not as cool as you think it is, plain and simple japanese street food is where it’s at, not this overly dressed up dish… that somehow has bacon rather than tender chunks or slices of pork belly.

Delicious and fresh. The pancake was truly unique, and the onigiri had the perfect amount of filling. We’ll be back!

Okonomiyaki was not it. Way undercooked, couldn’t finish it 🙁 This place is not authentic, which isn’t the problem, but that they can’t make good japanese street food period. There are better options!!
