Decided to try a new sushi restaurant this week. Try the Russian roulette. The spice that you may find, if you are sharing, is amazingly hot. This was the most fun I’ve had at a sushi restaurant. Our waitress was amazing and attentive. We also had a couple of other rolls. The theme of the rolls are related to high altitude features of Colorado. As a mountain climber I felt at home. And the Miso soup was amazing.

I hesitate to write this because this place is already busy enough, however they deserve the praise. The service and food are already above the bar but the presentation is beyond any I have experienced before. You absolutely are in for a treat not only taste wise but visually. I do recommend calling for reservations though because as I mentioned they are already very well known and I can say, without a doubt, we have found our new sushi place!

We’ve tried two other sushi joints in town, nothing touched Dozo Sushi. I’ve had sushi in some of the biggest hot spots in NY and LA, this isn’t that, but it’s darn close and damn good for land-locked sushi. Come here!

Beautiful plating (might be a bit overdone for some people). Sushi rolls are a bit large and loose. Rolls are well seasoned and creative. Sushi/nigiri are not the freshest, but they are not expected to be for Colorado. The otoro was 7/10.

Food was superb! I know good sushi and boy was this sushi good! The rice was sticky but tender and not dense. Flavors and textures of fish was fabulous. Had the red rocks roll and I also got a specialty item, the tonkotsu ramen, which was so delicious. (Wish I would have taken a picture before I started devouring it lol) I almost drank the broth, only stopped because I was so full. Also had the tempura cheesecake, DIVINE! Presentation was gorgeous and made you excited to eat the food. Service was so nice and inviting. Pricing was very reasonable. 10/10 recommend! I will absolutely be coming back.

Every time I go to DOZO Sushi I find another roll that I’m obsessed with. I have yet to find a roll I don’t like. We went last night for my birthday (which is a tradition at this point-literally no other place I would go to), and again the service and food is phenomenal. The plating is always beautiful too. The sushi is fresh, and hand rolled with no detail overlooked. The staff is always prompt and welcoming. This place really is the best in the Springs for sushi.
