Looking for a Chinese restaurant that uses white chicken breast meat in their honey garlic or generals chicken then this is your place. So far all the chicken dishes I have tasted are made with white meat. The house special fired rice comes with plenty of ingredients and is tasty.

Anyone saying this is best Chinese in the area knows nothing about Chinese food or they work for restaurant with a fake review. Dragon Gate I once knew and loved is gone. update review July 2023 I decided to give this place another try and nothing has changed. I was there in the afternoon wanted to do a take out. The owners don’t believe in air conditioning, girl and guy working behind the desk was stressed out and hot. Guests made some comments why is it so hot in here they must be cutting back on the AC. This time I ordered the orange chicken and fried rice. Orange chicken was so thick and not crispy and not cooked the right way and the same with the fried rice if you call it fried rice. The photo looks good and the food is not good at all. Egg Roll had a change and turned into a spring roll. Owners think the public is stupid not knowing how it should be cooked and presented. Dragon Gate for many years was very close to new york style Chinese not anymore. They sold the business and must of got rid of the chef because the food now is just horrible. Dragon Gate has now beaten Panda Express for the worst Chinese food in Pembroke Pines. Warning this place has gone down sorry to say things are not looking good for this place it changed since covid. I ordered the orange beef and it was soaking in a ton of liquid which left the beef soggy it lost its crispiness. Pork fried rice had no taste and everything was cold including the wonton soup. I have been long time customer of this place for over 20 years and have not been there since 2019. It got really bad I was ripped off of my $32.00. This area is in desperate need of great Chinese food. Most of the people here saying the food is great can’t tell the difference between lo mein and chow mein. Older customers past away and the new generation knows nothing about good food that’s why these horrible places stay in business.

The last review I did for this staple of a restaurant was about 5 years ago. I’ve been patronizing this authentic Chinese restaurant for almost 20 years. Now it is under new ownership. I walked in to a newly renovated restaurant. I only asked that the quality of the food remain consistent. So I ordered the half duck and mix soup. Had not had the duck for 3 years. The Duck was so tender and juicy. Well cooked served with white rice. My only disappointment was the sauce was too salty to eat and add to the rice. The mix soup was a bit different. It didn’t have that clean look and taste. But it was very good.

Thank you Paul, for restoring my faith in customer service. My order from today was wrong and you took the time to contact me and correct it! Dragon Gate has been my favorite spot since 2008. I am happy to say it will continue to be my go to Chinese food place! Again thank you Paul!

The service was quick after we ordered. The food was pretty good. We ordered some orange chicken, which was delicious. We also ordered Beef Szechuan. The meat was pretty good. I also liked the fact that you could change the spice level. For example I asked if I could make the orange chicken with no spice. I’d rate it 4 stars because it wasn’t too special, but it was still pretty good. I attached some pictures of the food we ate.

I place my order over the phone. The lady who took my order was super helpful, sweet and nice. Since I live nearby, the delivery was very fast (Their own delivery guy). The delivery person was polite, nice and the food arrived perfectly arranged. Finally, the food was excellent; well cooked and harmoniously flavored.

I order almost every week and today my egg foo young tasted spoiled. I tossed it out. My husband had mixed vegetables and it had no flavor. I did call to inform the restaurant. Maybe a different chef. I did call to let them know.
