The food here is AWESOME! And the people are very nice and friendly. And the location is right in the middle of plaquemine’s busiest part of town on Railroad Ave. along with dozens of other local businesses on both sides of the tracks. The inside of the building looks like it’s been remodeled, looks very clean and has a few beautiful antique pieces for show. I was very impressed!

This is where the 2016 film Showing Roots was filmed. We made this former vacant space Dee’s Cafe for several scenes in this movie. Very shortly after the movie wrapped, the Real D’s opened for business! Real friendly folks run this place. I highly recommend. Showing Roots starred Uzo Aduba, Elizabeth McGovern, & Cicely Tyson!
