Only four years ago did my husband and I meet at 419 State St. As he offered me a special piece of Baklava I was hooked. (At least to the food, and soon after to him as well). And it is now we open the doors of the same location to serve and bring the excitement and the luxury of Mediterranean and Arabic food at Dubai Restaurant and Bar.

I Almost felt under dressed for this place but the owner made me feel welcomed like an old friend and the bartenders were phenomenal with their speed. The drinks here were cheap and the bartenders heavy handed on the liquor. The babaganoush was the perfect combo to go with the quality drinks they serve, a solid flatbread that perfectly pair with the slight and delicate spinach flavor

Seeking a middle eastern restaurant, we came across this place and loved it. The inside feels much like a bar / lounge with booths and tables and there is plenty of seating outside as well. The food and service were excellent and the selection was great. Very centrally located. We were there when college was not open yet but we could imagine this place being packed on a regular basis.

I am so impressed by Dubai with not only their halal food, but also their service! Went with friends for a dinner, and I have to say I’m addicted to the salad here. Whatever dressing they use, it’s amazing. I’ve come here on my own for lunch JUST for the salad. Their hummus is always delicious and I’m so happy that they have halal meat! They’re like the only place on State Street that does. On top of that, our waitress was incredibly sweet and was always aware of when we needed attention. When I misplaced something and came back to check on it, all of the employees did their best to help me and the owner even sat with me to double check the security cameras (turns out I didn’t even have it with me when I came in ) Thank you so much to Dubai Mediterranean Restaurant for all your help and your delicious food! I will hopefully be coming back whenever I’m back in Madison!!

Had mix with falafel and grape leaves. The tasting is fantastic! Grape leaves come with a hint of refreshing sourness. All three dippings are flavorful and can be easily distinguished from each other!

Not my most positive experience eating…as s visitor. The lettuce was rusted. The dressing only oil. The kabob chicken was precooked and cold, the lamb hard and chewy. The curry chicken had great flavor but it could not compensate enough. Sad to have the experience but I believe in posting the good and the bad.

Excellent restaurant the owner Mack is an extremely amazing amazing owner. we stopped in as we were in town just passing through on State Street and we shared stories…. we will definitely definitely be back and recommend anybody that wants a good Mediterranean food to go to this place.
