Avoid this place at all costs. The service is abysmal and they really make you feel like your presence is unwanted. We had a time constraint as we needed to take the train an hour after arriving. 40 minutes after ordering, it was clear we would not receive our food in time. We asked our server whether it would be possible to take our food to go and get the check. The server promptly disappeared, and we did not see her again. We tried to follow up with another server who told us that the other server was on it and there was nothing she could do – not even print a check. Eventually the check arrived. We paid quickly, they took our money, and told us the food was coming. The food did not come. And we had to leave. It’s understandable that a place will be busy during a summer weekend, but an ounce of communication from the staff would have been appreciated.

I had lunch today with a table of 7, and while though I had eaten at the Dune Grass many a time through the years, today was probably the most enjoyable thanks to our waitress Carly..(I hope I spelled the name correctly) I wanted to take a moment to express my sincerest gratitude for the exceptional service she provided during my recent visit..Her friendly nature created a warm and inviting atmosphere for everyone at our table..Her genuine care for her customers truly shone through during our visit and I left the restaurant feeling not only satisfied with the delicious meal but also for the truly pleasurable experience she provided..All the best to you Carly, have a wonderful summer!

Lovely little cafe to enjoy a great lunch. I enjoyed my sandwich and received great service. Everyone was nice, sincere and went out of their way to ensure I was seated comfortable as I am recovering from a broken knee! A great cafe to go to and enjoy! I will definitely come back often.

Went here to eat and our server had no idea what she was doing. She would bump into me and could not hear anything anyone said and even knocked over a light while trying to take our order. She described an order wrong to my friend who got it and was extremely underwhelmed. Also, everything comes with chips and you can not substitute for fries. The chips come in a wise prepackaged bag. They do not even make their own chips and charge $6 for fries you can not switch out the chips for. If you want cheese on a sandwhich, it costs $2. Everything costs extra and the food is extremely cheap and not good. Payed $13 for a wrap that had bad lettuce in it with no dressing. Do not come here, better places that are not scams or have incompetent workers.

We enjoyed a delightful lunch in this charming 1880 building in Bay Head. The Cafe has inside and outdoor seating as well as a separate walk up ice cream shop. I ordered the vegetable egg omelette and it came with a side of pancakes. My friend ordered a lunch special with eggs and a mini hot fudge Sunday for dessert. The food was fresh and cooked to our specification. The interior is bright and spacious with decor to match the building. The owner, Mary, chatted with us and said the will offer dinners soon. Highly recommend !

Adorable little restaurant in Bay Head that serves the ultimate breakfasts! I got the Belly Buster with a side of sausage and it did not disappoint! The pancakes were buttery and fluffy, the eggs were cooked to a perfect medium and the sausage was crisp snap on the outside and savory and delicious all over! Will definitely be coming back to this gem!

The food here is always very good, however they really need to work out a better system for people who are waiting to be seated. There is nowhere to stand to wait where you first walk in and the workers are constantly bumping into you. There should be an area for customers to wait to be seated so they are out of the way of employees and other customers. Also, the wait staff could be a little more attentive. Every time we go we have to flag down a different waitress because ours always seems to disappear.
