I arrived at this store at approximately 9:00 AM. There were no customers in the dining facility or in line. I received a tepid welcome from the individual working the counter. I asked for a “Box of Joe” and 2 dozen assorted doughnuts. With obvious frustration on her face, the attendant totaled the order and then chastised me for not having called in 24 hours in advance requesting the same. I simply replied, thank you very much and have a good day. I went down the road a piece and found a satellite Dunkin Donuts at an Irving filling station. I asked there if it would be an issue to fulfill the same request without 24 hour advance notice. The attendant smiled, laughed and said, “No problem, we are kinda in that business.” She received my gratitude and a healthy gratuity. That’s how to run a shop.
