We stop at Eagles Nest a few times a year. It is one of the few places to get food in Plainview that is open on a reliable schedule. The food is greasy and not that great. The staff is usually attentive and friendly though. I always get tater tots because deep fried tater tots are always a treat. Maybe I’m being too hard on the food. I just don’t want to give people false hope that they have found a hidden gem. This is not that. The food is good enough. It just doesn’t get to the point where you would recommend a place because of the food.

Psa: DO NOT GET the vegan burger at eagles nest. Bun was crunchy (dry aging is not typically a baked goods technique) and was BUTTER toasted. Our table had 3 plates with fries and all were cold and maybe cooked a few days before we got there, and were sent back. The patty was a grilled freezer burned corn and bean something that was mushy and besides the char markings, was bland and boring. The picture shows exactly how it was sent to the table. I got all the sauces they had and still couldn’t doc this up to anything palatable. I’d speculate even a piece of lettuce, or pickle, even tomatoes, onions, jalepeno, or a raw carrot could have helped distract from the previous issues with this. I recommend maybe just sticking with fries (warm ones) and their popcorn and water. A questionably Vegan item on a menu in the small town of Plainview really got me excited but the execution drove away my business. Save yourself $9 or 12 dollars and don’t get this ever.

It’s a mixed review. A fish sandwich was pretty good. It goes downhill from there. The macaroni and cheese from the kids menu appears to look a lot like a simple boxed dinner. I ordered the prime rib dinner. A boxed dinner is about 50 cents I have never had a worse cut of prime rib anywhere. In fact, I have my doubts I actually had prime rib. The cut was far too thin, firm and chewy for prime rib. If they told me it was sirloin or another cheaper cut I would believe it. Also, this was the first time, and I pray the only time, I had prime rib smothered in what appeared to be gravy. No, this was NOT aus jus sauce. It was much more like a gravy, and not very good at that. My main complaint is, for the price paid, you should either get what is advertised, or get better quality.

My friend and I both ordered a turkey and bacon wrap. All that was in it was turkey, bacon, and too much lettuce. Need more flavors like some tomatoes, cheese, onion, or something. Tasted very bland. Used lots of dressing! Service was good. Restaurant and bathroom was clean.

I’ve been here a couple times, and the food’s ok. I’ve never had anything I didn’t like, but I’ve also never had anything I loved here. The dining options in Plainview are very limited, so even though it’s not great, it’s the best we’ve got. However, they do have very friendly staff, and it looks nice with all the updating they’ve done!

We’ve been here half a dozen times since moving to Plainview and always had a good experience. The tator tots and chips are very good. Great seasoning and dip with the chips. Servers have always been friendly.

The food here is okay. The food isn’t completely worth it’s price. The wings here are very good, and I thought the nachos were also pretty good. The popcorn is also good. The staff is very nice.
