Earla’s was the best dining experience I have had in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but it really was the best! Ok, we got there, early, and the owner Chris (same name as myself) was having trouble lighting her oven, due to turning off the gas before doing a deep clean the night before on her vent hoods. I offered help, as I was in the restaurant business in my previous life. We team worked to get the oven going, and that was that. Ok, my wife and I just ordered the bacon cheese burgers and fries. They came to the table via our server who was great, just the right amount of chat-get our stuff to us. I noticed instantly that the buns on our burgers were hot, she makes her own burger buns, which tasted awesome! The actual burger meat was not some pre-made patty, but a hand spanked out great tasting burger that made my night! Onion, tomato came with, which way up here sometimes is an extra cost! Fries, perfect for my taste, not the giant steak fries, but a perfect size, maybe pencil diameter fry, and cooked perfectly. I came in Earla’s not expecting perfection, but received it! My business will be going there often! Thank you Chris and Staff for making my night, and my mouth water just thinking about going back! Chris and Pam, from Florida!

Wow!! Coming from downstate, we stopped in for a bite to eat and were completely surprised by the fabulous food, the cleanliness and the friendly service. The Curd burger was amazing with a HOMEMADE bun!! By far, the best bun I have ever had! Of course it was buttered and toasted which just put it over the top! My husband had the chicken strips-hand battered perfectly! And I love a well-done fry to round a perfect meal!! Thanks so much for the yooper hospitality!!

Class of 1979 reunion while we were there. Menus was limited to prime rib. The owner muddled our brandy old fashions herself. Her husband said he was the gopher. His first name is Bab. He goes by his last name Boon. Actually in 7th grade he was given the nick name baboon. On another note, people from my home town 318 miles away are the great aunt and uncle of the neighbors I grew up with. They were twins, the only kids within miles of my house. Come for fun. The food is ok. But that is from the food snobbery of Madsion

Had a great fish dinner! I had the baked haddock and my husband had the pan-fried perch – both excellent! Potato salad is outstanding; good service too! We will return soon.

Very unique atmosphere was well worth the detour to get there. Loved the staff, as an outsider was treated so nicely.
