The food was awesome. Would recommend getting a reservation ahead using the Yelp app. Sunday brunch wait time is around 45 to 60 mins. Didn’t get great service when I visited.

Early Bird just opened a few days before we tried it and we were there around 10 am on Saturday. I knew that the West Des Moines location had an online Yelp waitlist and sure enough Ankeny does too, so I joined it because I knew there’d be a wait. I’m sure glad I did! There was about a 30-45 minute wait when I joined. The inside is fairly small, just like West Des Moines, so I’m sure it fills up fast. Our waiter was great, food was also great and much better than I remembered from their other location. Our group had the biscuits and gravy (B&G), one of the Reese’s Pieces pancakes, and the Chicken Fried Chicken. All was great! We will be back.

Wonderful new location out here in Ankeny! I took my mom here who came up to visit me from Omaha, she has been to a couple of the early bird restaurants down there and loved them, so I thought better take her to the brand new one up here. It feel a lot more open than the one in West DSM and has a wonderful atmosphere to it.

This was by far the best breakfast I’ve had in awhile. Great flavor and portion sized. Can’t wait to go again. I had the Corned Beef Hash meal. Coffee cocktails are also really good. ☕️

Three of us went for our weekly lunch. I got the chicken salad sandwich. It was too messy to eat as a sandwich. I had to use a fork. The chicken chunks were very small. It tasted ok. I liked the tomato bisque soup. One friend got the breakfast tacos, and they, too, were messy to eat and required a fork. The other friend had bacon and eggs, and they were fine. We kind of felt like we were rushed to vacate our table, even though there were plenty of other tables available and no people waiting. We were in and out in less than an hour, so if you want a fast meal, that would be good. We like a little time to visit
