I would like to start off by thanking General Manager Michael R Morris and Joshua Davis for greeting me as if I was Family. They certainly Love Our Military and I as a Disabled Veteran was given a nice discount. This was my first time here, I was craving some BBQ. I will say that being a native Houstonian we have great BBQ places to go to. I now rank Smoke Monkey East TX with the Best. After looking at so many choices I decided to go with the special of chopped beef sandwich with side and a drink. They make and hot brand their buns on site. They are so tender and make your mouth water. Once I took a bite into my sandwich it was amazingly tender beef and not overly smoked. It was perfection to me with an abundance of flavor. This was without even putting BBQ sauce on yet, lol. This is how you test out the beef, lol. Once I put BBQ sauce on it; it took it to another level especially with jalapeños. Now for the Mac and cheese side, wow, you can feed two adults with that order. I had sweet tea and it too was just right and not overly sweet. This filled me up and I am a big eater. I could go on for ever about this jewel in East TX. The staff is so accommodating and check on you. I pray that the Bucket List stops by, y’all are so deserving of a visit. Stopped by here on a whim. Best decision! Nice setting. Staff is friendly, funny, and accommodating. I had the brisket sandwich with a side of mac & cheese. Y’all, they make their own bread here, and it really makes a difference in the taste in the taste of a sandwich; it’s terrific. And that mac & cheese did not disappoint, either! My fiance had the 2-meat plate with potato salad. He’s a real foodie and very picky, but he enjoyed it too. Last but not least, the watermelon tea was yummy! No regrets. We’ll be back.

Freshly cooked and this was our first visit to the restaurant. We came to the local village resort for vacation, but a lot of their food on the menu was not available, so we had to find meals outside the resort . The fish was fantastic and fresh. Neatly packed, and our order was taken by a friendly and professional staff member .

Stopped with my grandson on the way to the water park. We ordered the Brisket Mac & Cheese, watermelon ice tea and peach pie. It was amazing!!! The bbq sauce has a little spice to it. Not to much just enough. Michael, the GM is fabulous!! He took great care of us! Will definitely be going back

Good food! Visit date 5/26/23. We read the sign on the door indicating short staff but that did not stop our party of 5. Yes, we had to wait to order and for our food, but we knew that going in, due to the sign indicating they were short staffed. Food was delicious. I had the fried catfish, Mac and cheese, and fried okra. Their pickles are the BEST! Please be patient and give the staff grace, they are doing multiple jobs. It is hard to keep a small local business open when people do not want to work! Overall, great experience.

This place is a gem! There aren’t enough words to say about how wonderful the food was. I had brisket and pulled pork; the hubs had jalapeño sausage and catfish. (At a BBQ place, I know!) We couldn’t decide which of the four we liked the most. I didn’t think the sides would come close to the meat, but I was wrong. The fried pickles were even great as leftovers the next day, and the mac and cheese was delicious. Everything we ate was better than the bite before!

The food was delicious, I recommend the Nashville chicken. It was fabulous. The Mac n cheese was lacking it was watered now and flavorless. There was a slight mix-up with our order, which was quickly rectified. The staff is super sweet and helpful and knowledgeable about their product. They were quick and helpful. The atmosphere was perfect even when it started to get busy. I highly recommend this place.

I’m rarely out that way so I couldn’t resist trying it. And it was worth every penny. The brisket was tasty. I asked for extra bark, and the lady cutting the meats brought me even more during my meal. Fried jalapeño “chips” were an amazing surprise (think fried okra, but sliced jalapeños) sausage was on point. All around a great experience.
