My friend recommended this place and it was an excellent choice for dinner. Food was good…well seasoned and flavorful…and affordable! Service was good, the owner even passed by my table to check to see how we were doing. They also have live music on select nights…check the website for their schedule. They have nice boothes with views of the golf course as well as outdoor seating and seating by the bar. Reserve your seat ahead of time by calling or on the website.

Went for dinner didn’t know it was Fish Fry Friday this day they have a buffet bar all you can eat, 25.00 we didn’t order the buffet, (third Friday of the month) it was packed didn’t have a reservation but they seated us which was great! We ordered drinks lemons drops which whoever made them they did a great job . They waitress she was a whole vibe! She did her thing my brother came for oxtail she stated they didn’t have them that night, However after we ordered our food she came to him and said ” before you see them bring out the oxtails at the next table she I apologize we have them ” she told him she will place an order for him on her! Loved it! After 9pm it went down D. J. Booth set up and he went in talking about a vibe man! Loved the D. J. They where supporting small businesses they had “FREE” raffle tickets and prizes every 10 mins. Well it’s safe to say this is my new after 9 spot.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Enjoyed the soft jazz selection playing in the background. Very good food! Good Service – Sara was great waitress. Each dish was served in a timely manner. They did not skimp on the alcohol for the drinks & special compliments to the chef on the Mac n Cheese! We will be back for date night.

True story. I met Glenn, the chef and owner of Edgar’s, and his then-fiancee now-wife, 30 years ago on Martha’s Vineyard when he was just beginning his culinary journey. Since then, I hadn’t seen or talked to him until I got invited to join a buddy of mine at Edgar’s for a drink in February just before the Super Bowl. Being relatively new to the Akron area, I wasn’t aware of what great food I had been missing out on and that Glenn’s and my paths had crossed 30 years earlier. We recently recreated the picture from our fun times on the Vineyard (that’s us in the upper right hand corner) and I have become a regular at Edgar’s because of it’s warm and welcoming vibe (what the TV show Cheers would be like if it were set in Akron overlooking a public golf course with a killer sunset view), great bartenders, great service and, of course, fantastic food. Chef’s kiss. It’s all about the food. I recently shared Jamaican BBQ Wings, Plantains with lemon and ginger, and baked Grouper (a Ghanaian recipe) with my daughter, and we both were impressed with how perfectly seasoned everything was. We even got hot, freshly baked bread brought to our table by our gracious server, Marshall. That was the evening of Tuesday March 7. The following evening, I met another buddy of mine at Edgar’s. I had the Plantains again (did not disappoint one bit), a bowl of Gumbo that reminded me of grandma’s Gumbo from way back in the day, warm bread, and lemoncillo cheesecake. Everything was on point. If you have never been to Edgar’s, do yourself a favor and get there ASAP. Bring your appetite. The food is very reasonably priced given its high quality. Old skool music serves as a nice backdrop to the amazing dining experience. On Friday evening there is a live DJ after 9:00 and on some Saturdays there is a live band (you have to make reservations and pay a cover charge if you want to be close to the performers). Finally, Edgar’s is a great place to host an event on their patio during the warmer months of Northeast Ohio. I am planning to have my birthday party on June 10th. I can’t wait to gather friends and family for a celebration that includes great food, drinks, music, golf (if you want to get in 18 holes) and and a westward vista that includes a killer view of the orange glow of the sunsetting on the patio of Edgar’s restaurant and bar. Five stars for sure.

Went here with a couple of friends on a Friday evening. We started out ordering a couple of appetizers and they were not available. We finally settled on one and the wings were good. Our meals were good but someone sent back a weak tasting cocktail. The restaurant was pretty empty for a Friday night but our waiter was friendly and funny.

Terrible service. Waited 20min and had to ask for a waitress. Once we got a waitress we had to ask after an hour for our salad and appetizers. Appetizers were disgusting, my sons burger was like eating charcoal, and our waitress Sara was the worst. She didn’t even offer to replace my sons meal or offer a refund. I’m not sure what happened over the years but this place has changed drastically. I wouldn’t recommend

Had reservations for Saturday night only 2 chefs. Waited at least 30 minutes for “fresh” bread it was room temperature. An hour into it we had only been served a salad an a cocktail. We canceled our meal. I actually love the place but this was unacceptable.
