ere was one spot left at 6PM. Accommodating our plans was not even a question- we had to sample more of the menu. As this review has turned into a small novel, I will leave you with this – we returned to that famous southern hospitality, as our server Paula received us with a hug and a heart-warming smile. We left one of our dishes for our server to decide and of course we were not let down. I asked if there was any way to create a mocktail, and they gracefully created what Paula jokingly called the triple A. We opted for a different dessert- a pear & ginger crumble, accompanied with vanilla bean ice cream per a very enthusiastic suggestion. While it cannot compare to the Edison Chocolate Bulb, a best seller for a reason, we can’t leave The Edison disappointed. If you’ve made it this far, here are my personal recommendations (based on our limited tasting of the menu): the Fig & Fromage is easily the gateway to the rest of the meal, please order the fries & ranch, The Bulb will truly blow your expectations and lastly- listen to Paula, under her sweet demeanor is clearly a foodie eager to share her flawless recommendations.

Delightful find on James Island. Fabulous, low key vibe with friendly staff, excellent menu and tasty choices. Two apps and three entrees were all flavorful, well prepared and presented. The standouts were Fromage & Fig, Pho tacos and Chicken and Waffles. Don’t think I have ever had better chicken and waffles, so delicious.

This review is long overdue. We went to Edison back in August and the dining experience was exceptional! (Maybe subconsciously I wanted to keep it for myself?) We started with the Fromage and Fig. The whipped ghost cheese was creamy and delicious and coming with fig jam, toasted almonds, honey, and ample crostini all I can say is mmmmmmmmmmm! For the main course my wife had the seared ahi tuna which came with a house-made teriyaki glaze, citrus-edamame pure, tobiko, cilantro, picked onion, jalapeño, and sesame. It was as delicious as all that sounds. (Yes I made her give me some although not as much as I would have liked after tasting it. I had the special: pan seared Chilean sea bass. This came on a shrimp cake and had shitaki mushrooms, baby corn, chinese sausage, and jasmine rice cake, all in a coconut green curry sauce. The picture actually does justice to how good it was. I’ve been dying to go back. Hopefully early in the new year. Oh, and as important, our server was wonderful and the price was right. Sadly, we didn’t have room for dessert.

Went for date night, and made a reservation the morning of via the Resy app. Nice little place, and busy but we were sat immediately. Our server came right over and was very friendly, conversational and had good suggestions. We ordered the pho tacos (unbelievably good) for an appetizer, and had the beef short ribs with grits and a stuffed flounder special for dinner. The food was some of the best we’ve had in Charleston and left hardly anything on the plates. Plus the little cheesecake for dessert put us over the top. Overall one of the best date night spots I’ve gone too. Atmosphere was very nice, food was amazing as was the service and I highly recommend!

As others have said, this place is amazing. Went in for drinks and ended up canceling our other reservation so we could eat at the bar. Chris was bartending and makes a great martini. Great spot all around.

Wonderful restaurant! Loved the farmhouse atmosphere. Sommelier was very patient, kind and knowledgeable and helped us pick out delicious wines to go with our meals. Our waitress went above and beyond and helped us make sure we got good meals for me and my husband with many allergies. She even offered to take our picture on the deck and give us a free dessert for our honeymoon. We got the shrimp cavatelli and the pan seared swordfish and it was delicious. The place was very inviting and highly suggest stopping by.

Great service, salads were very small but side salmon was very good. The whipped Boursin cheese was good but more fig than cheese so way too sweet. The kicker was the 3.99% credit card fee that you find out at the end of the meal and the tiny paper napkins are almost useless. Get the details right If you want a 4-5 star rating!

I got an early start on the weekend, stopped by Edison’s about 4. Had one of their specials for dinner with a cold glass of white wine.
