At Edley’s Bar-b-que we treat like an old family friend. We pride ourselves with not taking any shortcuts in the kitchen. Our meats are smoked low and slow using Southern white oak. The sides are made from scratch daily with the same amount of attention. Everything is done with intention, from the food to the service to the music. We strive to serve the best food we can make and prove ourselves a worthy host—one plate at a time. My friend and I kind of happened upon this restaurant and I was pleased that we did. We walked into a nice, clean and pleasant atmosphere. We decided to sit at the bar, the bartender was nice she told me her name and I totally forgot but she’s a blonde. She suggested the brisket and that was an excellent suggestion. The brisket platter came with 2 sides, cornbread, coleslaw and pickles. I chose green beans and Mac and cheese. The brisket was full of flavor and tender, its seasoned so well you don’t need sauce. The green beans were also very well seasoned with a spicy kick, and paired well with the cornbread. The green beans remind me of my grandmother’s southern style homemade green beans. I also had a Moscow mule and it was delicious. The let down of my experience was the Mac and cheese, per the description it was supposed to have a breadcrumb topping and it didn’t, also it was kind of dry but still had flavor. The slaw was not good at all to me or my friend it had way too much vinegar. The other disappointment was the portion size of the sides, I feel like the sides were served in sampler size plastic cups. I get the whole rustic BBQ restaurant feel but I believe how the sides are served could be given more thought. Overall, the food and atmosphere were great and I will visit again.

It looks nice in presentation, but not flavor. Maybe it’s because I’m from Texas, but I was very underwhelmed. I don’t need sauce on my food if it’s cooked right to start with. There’s not much flavor on the meat without sauce on it, so I get why they’ve gone out of their way. The sides were ok, but in small portions. The staff was nice, but didn’t know how to answer questions about the meals and choices. The atmosphere isn’t what I expected either, overly loud music that didn’t fit the vibe.

Awesome facility great atmosphere, but food was horrible and watch the bartender, she will find ways to run up your bill. Burn ends is all fat no meat, very greasy no flavor. The corn bread is sour and crusty dry, better have good dentures, the Mac and cheese is not moist and cheesy, it tasted more like a sour pasta salad. The fries were overcooked and dry. The whole meal was cold, it felt like leftovers they put in a microwave for 1 minute. I at the food around 6pm, went to bed by 9pm and by midnight I was in front of the toilet puking, food did not set well. Will never be back, not a real smokehouse bbq place.

We’ll most certainly be back for the Wings (Classic Buffalo), Fries, Baked Beans, and phenomenal customer service! The wings were tender, tasty, and crispy. The fries were the best we ever had, being crispy & seasoned! The Baked Beans were like Chili, not basic, many different kinds of beans, complex flavors, and spicy!

Met some friends for a Sunday afternoon Lunch and it was our first visit to the restaurant. The food was delicious. I had the Burnt ends and I got it with greenbeans which where southern style greenbeans. Everything was freshly prepared and the burnt ends had a very good smokey flavor – not overpowering. The burnt ends were meaty and were tender. The grit casserole was very good – loved the twist on grits, they were slightly spicy and had bits of sausage in them. The corn bread was really good too.

Had the catfish tacos….Holy cow, baby where you been all my life? Amazing. And 2 bites of the smashburger wasn’t enough. The service was awesome: I love when servers can joke. The building itself is cool too. A go to spot in Edwardsville.

I didn’t know what to expect with the mix of good and bad reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. The burnt ends tasted great and the bed of grits they were served on were the biggest surprise of the meal. The grits were full of flavor and had a nice kick of heat. The mac and cheese was also very good. Like others have said the cornbread was dry and a disappointment but the other parts of the meal made up for it. The sweet tea was the perfect southern sweetness. The place is pretty big and has plenty of seating. There is also a full bar and lots of outdoor tables. The food did take a while to come out after I ordered, but I would say the wait was worth it. Definitely give this place a try!

Had the hot chicken sandwich and it was phenomenal. Not overwhelmingly hot. Perfect element of heat on the back end. Mac n cheese/green beans were fantastic. My friend had the tacos 3 ways and raced about it. Friendly staff.

The bbq is great. The sides are very small so be mindful of that. The mac n cheese was so/so. Kinda bland. The black bean salad is really good. The desserts were yummy. Good service. The white bbq sauce is a winner.
