Edzo’s never fails to impress me. It’s a classic burger joint that you can’t go wrong with. The place since reopening is card only, focusing on online ordering and takeout. You can eat in but the area is relatively small. The burgers are cooked accurate to what you request, and the beef is brought in fresh daily. They are generous with the toppings. I was delightfully surprised with the BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger, as the BBQ flavor is mild but adds some nice layering to the flavor. The fries are hand cut and made fresh. Typically the fries are great but occasionally they can be just okay. (id give a 4.5 stars if possible for this reason only) The shakes are absolutely delicious, as the banana shake was packed with flavor. i recommend choosing split into two cups if you do takeout because they give you whatever is left from them making the shake (usually is quite a bit). The owner is really friendly, and the staff is too. We love coming here when the burger cravings kick in and will continue to !

Grew up here, moved, came back to visit family and do the usual stops. Finding myself in Evanston & looking for a burger joint to eat at, enter Edzo’s. If you’re even thinking about it, don’t. Just go! Fresh meat, fresh buns, great burgers, great fries, and toppings and the shakes are ridiculous! Cannot go wrong, worth the trip! I’ll be back, and after you’ve tried it, so will you!

I went for the first time 4 years ago and thought it was too expensive and not that great for what you get. After that, I wrote it off and it never even occurred to me to try it again even though I’ve lived close by. Today, though, I was really craving a burger and I tried it again- and dang it was exactly the kind of wonderfully messy and ideal patty-to-condiments ratio burger I was craving! I’ve been sleeping on Edzo’s for too long. Also really enjoyed the mercket’s cheese fries. Not something you eat to feel good, but wow it was good. That’s gotta count for something

I was super excited to try Edzos for the first time since they’ve been closed the past year or so, but I was super disappointed in the quality of the meal. For almost $13 you get a small, average tasting cheeseburger and some of the worst fries I’ve ever had. They were covered in way too much salt, not crispy at all, and some weren’t cooked all the way through. I like supporting smaller fast food places, but I won’t be coming back here.

Tasty burger and fries, and loved the atmosphere of the restaurant! Service was a bit awkward, but certainly not rude, just a bit off. Food came out reasonably quickly, loved the meal although the chocolate milkshake was heavily diluted and practically just vanilla, that element was not well-done. Prices are a bit high but nothing astronomical. Cool establishment in downtown Evanston, great decor inside it’s definitely worth the visit!

I used to really love Edzo’s and was glad to see they reopened, but I guess things have gone downhill. I ordered a shake, and they were out of lids, so they put some plastic wrap on top and sent it out anyway. By the time it arrived it was half empty because it had spilled all over the place. I called to ask for a refund; they said they’re “not offering refunds right now”. I’ve worked in food service for years, I get that stuff happens, but if they’re going to put a blanket no refunds policy then it’s really not worth it anymore, especially with these prices.

OMG.. just ate at edzos. First time customer after hearing about it for a couple of years. First a tasteless burger DROWNED in ketchup and mustard to cover the lack of taste. Now let’s move on to the refried fries that were “hard” on the teeth. Your advertising says fresh fries NOT old refried fries. The egg sandwich ordered in the picture and description say you get two eggs, nope one egg. Bottom line, overrated and way over priced. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

No no no. Everything was just terrible. I ordered two single burgers and small fries. The burger was pretty thin with no seasoning at all. The fries were way over done, way too greasy, and had so much salt I couldn’t even eat any. The chairs of the place are literally tearing apart. The floor is filthy looking. I can see areas of the place that have never been cleaned. All of this for $17…don’t go here unless you love over priced terrible food.
